We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Gladys Martha Crespo-Jimenez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dr. Gladys Martha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
It is not a surprise that as you start practicing an art, in this case the art of practicing chiropractic, you learn about yourself and about the ways that make you feel more connected to what you do. This is what happened to me. When I started my practice I was on my head basically all the time. I knew I wanted to be my truly self and that what I was doing wasn’t my complete true self but I needed a start. Then I remember chatting with an amazing woman who told me that she knew that I was a different kind of chiropractor, but that she didn’t see it projected in the way I was referring to myself. That’s when everything started changing. I was practicing at a space that I am very grateful for but it wasn’t me and didn’t allow me to showcase who I was. Eventually, I started practicing in a small beautiful and magical space that allowed me to bring all of what I was to surface. That’s when I rediscovered myself and it became clear to me that my true calling was what I like to call Holistic Intuitive Chiropractic, which integrates a myriad of practices that support a person’s journey towards a vibrant life. These practices have become an essential part of my practices by allowing me to focus on the person as a whole, instead of the sum of the pieces. These practices not only support the physical elements but also support emotions, which are directly interconnected to a person’s ability to heal. Every time I go to our space now I feel happy, I feel connected, I feel that I can be my true self and that the more myself I become, the more accomplishments are met with the people who come to see me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I had a long education journey that started with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, followed by 2 years of a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy until I was able to follow my heart and go to Chiropractic School at Life University, where I graduated in 2017.
We moved to Arizona because we fell in love with this magical place. Here, I’ve created Health Expression as a place for you to be able to feel safe and home and as a place for you to unwind and reconnect with your inner power to heal yourself and love a more vibrant version of yourself.
At Health Expression Chiropractic we want to develop a connection with everyone that comes in to create a harmonious state of health. By getting adjusted, we allow the nervous system to flow freely, without interruptions. This translates into a state of well-being that will allow you to enjoy life actively and vibrantly.
Intuitive Holistic Chiropractic involves a myriad of approaches that focuses on you as a whole, instead of the sum of the pieces. It involves the use of practices that promote not only physical but emotional healing. Health Expression is here for you whether you are looking for a Holistic Approach to health or whether you are looking for the relief of pain in a refreshing and safe environment.
I like to call the approach I use the Health Expression Flow of Integrated Chiropractic. The reason behind this name is that while I do love to help people have less pain, that is not the main goal behind the approach I use. The goal is for people to have a space where they can express health while feeling safe and cared for. My goal is for people to enter into our safe space of healing where love and respect are our engines. A space where they are listened to and treated as a full human.
The way I do chiropractic involves deep breaths that reconnect people to their inner power of feeling good; of expressing health. The Health Expression Flow of Integrated Chiropractic is a conglomerate of approaches to make people feel good in their own bodies. It includes plant oils that permeate the environment with inviting scents that allow people to ground. It includes adjustments that align the body to its center. It includes conversations that help people understand themselves better. It is a holistic experience where we are a family.
As an Intuitive Holistic Chiropractor, I am able to use my hands to promote the body’s ability to live in a harmonious state that will help it to work the way it is intended to; free and vibrant, but also I use my hands to access a person’s Life Force, to promote a healthy flow of energy. As chiropractors, we believe that we have subtle energy that orchestrates and organizes, and that is, the Life Force that resides within all of us and connects us with the Universe.
When our spine is out of alignment, it creates interference to the expression of the organizing force of the universe throughout us, creating disconnection from our own centers and from the Universe. Adjustments remove interferences to the transmission of Life Force, reuniting the Universal Intelligence with our bodies.
And it is all this that I believe sets me apart from other approaches to chiropractic.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Whenever I talk with anyone interested in building a business serving others, I always say that the only thing you need in order to grow and be known in the field is to provide the best service you can provide with deep love and be the most authentic version of yourself that you can be. And that is what I believe helped me build my reputation. I treat everyone I see as family and I deeply care for each person that comes to see me. I listen, I connect and I develop a relationship with every person. I am the most authentic version of myself and I always strive to make every person feel listened, seen and in connection with their inner power of thriving and living a healthy life.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
This goes hand to hand with building a reputation. I work mainly by referrals, meaning that the people I see are most of the times referred by someone who is part of Health Expression. And I have to emphasize again that the way I’ve grown my clientele has been by giving them the best that I have to offer, my knowledge and truly caring for every person. Social Media has been very helpful in spreading the word about the way I practice and in allowing people to see what sets me apart from others in my field. In other words, being authentic, dedicated, loving, respectful and present.
