We were lucky to catch up with Dr. Ellie Vale-Saquieres recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dr. Ellie thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Early on in my career I knew I wanted to make a big splash in the aesthetics and beauty industry. From my humble beginnings in nursing I kept my vision on beauty and knee one day I would get an opportunity to make a difference in this industry. Medicine has always been a passion of mine but something was always missing and that’s where The Beauty Bar commenced! The Beauty Bar by Ellie Belle is my dream practice. It’s a place of zen, inner beauty and appreciation for all aspects of self-love. It’s been an uphill battle but one that’s lead me to find my true calling. This road has led me to my true calling and has allowed me to fulfill my dream of uniting beauty and medicine into one.
Dr. Ellie , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The Beauty Bar by Ellie Belle is a full med spa in Central Florida. We cater to all and focus on enhancing each individual’s radiant beauty. We provide aesthetic and makeup artistry as well as skin and body treatments. At the Beauty Bar we strive to not only enhance our clients beauty but we also provide enriching courses for other female entrepreneurs who want to obtain certifications in this industry. Our goal is to make a difference for women who’ve walked difficult paths in life and to provide a route to business ownership in todays beauty industry.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Training and knowledge is essential for any business however the most important quality I find that has led me to succeed was humility and a deep understanding of self-worth. I feel that entrepreneurship is a role that is very humbling. Often times you will face being alone and the pressures of societies beliefs on your art- but through a humble perspective you can overcome any obstacles. This also goes for understanding your self worth. As an entrepreneur you have to assign worth to your time, skill set, and products and this is one of the most helpful things I have found that led me to success. The goal is to realize that you got this far because of your skill and that is worth its weight in gold.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Growing your clientele is an integral part of business ownership. This can either make or break your business therefore, finding the best way to attract and keep clients is essential. For me- being genuine and true to my craft has been the best way I’ve been able to make a connection to my clientele. In addition, making sure to provide quality services at the highest standards is also key.
