We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr Elizabeth Threatt a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Dr Elizabeth, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

I was called into ministry (to preach the gospel) in 1999 this is when I realized I needed a mentor and there were none to be found. This is when I learned to study and rely on God himself to train me. This also sparked something in me to help others which occurred in 2016 when I started mentoring women in Ministry.

After being in ministry for over 20+ years I began to hold services which God led me to do strictly to preach and pray for his people. This began in 2015 with one yearly service then during the pandemic Sold Out was birthed. Sold Out began by me praying live on social media. During the live sessions people began to ask about an in person service once the pandemic ended (which began the launch of Sold Out International). I now hold 2 in person services per month. During these services I pray and preach for the people of God.

I began my teaching career in 2003 as a teacher assistant. I later became a licensed teacher in 2008. From 2008 – until now I have always been selected by Administration as a lead teacher. In the summer of 2012 I was selected by the district to coach beginning teachers.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hi My name is Dr Elizabeth P Threatt, I reside in NC and I am the mother of 2 sets of twins (all girls) and the proud grandmother of 2 I also have a golden doodle named Tucker. I began preaching the gospel in 1998 which lead me to start hosting conferences and mentoring women in ministry. Since that time it has evolved into God’s Girl Mentorship and Sold Out International. Sold Out International is a non-profit which is based on prayer and deliverance. During services people not only receive an empowering word they also receive individual prayer. This ministry is know for miracles, signs, and wonders as described in the bible.

God’s Girl Mentorship services women and girls not only in ministry but to those that simply need guidance in any area. The women under Dr Threatt’s mentorship receive teaching and hands on experience as well as fellowship. God’s Girl Mentorship is known for birthing integral leading women and girls.

Dr Threatt is also a published author with seven books (Worship and Warfare, God’s Chosen, Morning Glory Prayer Devotional, God’s Girl, Tried by Fire, and Sold Out).

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I was not born into a wealthy family, in fact I had many obstacles to overcome. I even dropped out of high school to help take care of my grandfather. I ended up enrolling into a night school and actually graduated early at the top of my class. My struggles did not stop there, I ended up pregnant at 19 with a set of twins which caused me to end up on public assistance. I eventually got off public assistance and enrolled into community college, this is when my spark for learning was ignited.

After eventually marrying my children’s father I enrolled into Shaw University where I received my bachelors degree in Religion and Philosophy. I continued my educational journey at University of Phoenix where I obtained my masters and doctorate degrees.

After being married for 22 years my marriage ended and I didn’t count it as a loss but I pushed myself harder to reinvent myself, my ministry, and my goals.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

The one book that has shaped my entire life is The Holy Bible! The bible is my guide to everything in my personal and business life. I whole heartedly believe every answer to life’s issues can be found in the word of God. The word of God is my inspiration and motivation.
