Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Don Cote. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Don, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
There are people that have life experience that has turned to wisdom and there are people who seek that wisdom. The Internet makes it seem like it should be so easy for the two to find each other yet, they struggle.
I am one of the former.
So, I created a community where the people with the wisdom can easily find each other and communicate.
With the help of the community I decided to call it SUMMITEERS: A community of Peak Performers.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m 67. I’ve made millions of dollars in many different industries primarily because I believe there is one common element in every industry, people.
I’ve worked hard to understand people. I have a doctorate in Cognitive Behavioral Science. My goal is always the same, serve the people better than anyone else.
Today my goal is to help the wise sage and the seeker find each other in a loving, caring, kind and compassionate environment.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I had originally thought I would help seniors live life to the fullest. As the community began to grow younger people asked to join.
How did you build your audience on social media?
My plan was simple, on Facebook, I sent 50 friend request to anyone with gray hair. About 10 accepted. I was able to engage 2-3 in a dialogue and have 1-2 per week on my podcast.
