We recently connected with Dr. Danette O’Neal and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Danette, thanks for joining us today. Over the course of your career, have you seen or experienced your industry completely flip-flop or change course on something?
As a native of New Orleans Louisiana we live in a constant fear ofrunning from hurricanes. The first pivot was Hurricane Katrina. Losing an entire city for years, families displaced, the church, and the community that you branded yourself in for decades was a huge hurdle to jump over.
We had to reinvent ourselves in another city, Atlanta, And go through the painful process of establishing political contacts, seeking our vendors, partners, offices, personnel, and rebranding ourselves.
– Just recently hurricane Ida put us in the same position. Most of my work is on the community economic development side and in addition to our commercial division, I’ll passion sterilize with working from individuals from disenfranchised neighborhoods and communities.
-So the adaptation of CV19 —and trying to figure out how we were going to sell properties virtually- and stay connected to our clients while maintaining profitability came easy.
– we have become Masters at interpreting and buying the right types of insurances, and teach other how to do it as well.
– We have adopted many new procedures within our office including maximizing technology to manage our offices clients and properties virtually; While using social media to continue to expand our brand and territory.
– DOR-Is no stranger to pivoting in fact I’ve developed it into a workshop and I thought it nationwide many of times.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
