We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dr. Casuel Pitts a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dr. Casuel, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about your team building process? How did you recruit and train your team and knowing what you know now would you have done anything differently?
From day one I set the bar high and did not employ anyone to help me bring my vision to fruition, instead, it took a full year before I was ready to bring my first employee on board. But now, 18 companies later, I have attained the enviable feat of having a workforce of over 6500 people, comprising both employees and freelancers. To ensure that I was putting the right people in the right places, I made them all take personality tests and love language tests, so they felt more at ease working alongside me rather than for me. If I were to start anew today, I would have implemented these tests from the very beginning, to further ensure that I had a highly motivated team of like-minded individuals.
Dr. Casuel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At first glance, Dr. Casuel Pitts may seem to be a self-made man. And one would be justified in thinking that. After all, he’s been an entrepreneur since the age of seven. And over the past twenty-eight years, he’s built a veritable empire. But Dr. Pitts credits his success to a greater power. He firmly believes that God is the only one who has gotten him to where he is today. He believes too that God has given him the gift to help people and build businesses. Dr. Casuel Pitts aims to own thirty businesses. So far, he owns twelve. He sees himself as a Legacy Builder. He specializes in taking businesses from $0 to $1M in a year. He has over twenty-two partnerships in other businesses, owning 15 -20% equity. Additionally, he sits on the boards of six other companies. Everyone has a purpose in life. Dr. Pitts believes his purpose is to change the world through entrepreneurship and teach people how to marry kingdomship into entrepreneurship. One way he does this is through speaking at functions and mentoring. His job as a speaker includes: moving the crowd by explaining his journey; empowering the crowd to believe that success exists; and creating a plan of action so it becomes a reality. He teaches drive, dedication, and determination.
His latest achievement is becoming the owner of The Real Entrepreneurs Network (TREN). The channel is available through Roku TV and displays entrepreneurs from all over the world. Dr. Pitts also runs a mentorship program through one of his businesses, Entrepreneur Empire. Through this program, he pushes people to their limits. He helps them understand their goals and what they mean to them, and the role their goals play in their success. The mentorship program features an evolution. His mentoring program offers different resources to help them reach their goals.

Yes, there was this very particular event where I was against the wall with nowhere to go and I was on the brink of losing my business and I turned to God in desperation, asking Him to give me a NEW idea that would allow me to turn it around. I was deep in debt and was losing money, however, God graciously answered my prayer and blessed me with a NEW service that I could add to my business. I worked hard to get the clients that I needed and within my first month alone, I had already managed to break even. By the end of the year, I had increased my sales by 50%, which goes to show that if you never give up when things are tough, there is always a way out.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I was eager to secure funding for my business, so I put together a comprehensive investor pitch Deck. I was diligent and sent five emails a day over the course of several months, and received around 120 No’s but only three yeses. Thankfully, one investor decided to invest $10k, which I then utilized to produce a remarkable return of $75k within the first year. I took great pride in honoring my commitment to the investor and promptly paid them back with interest. With newfound confidence, I was now able to drive my business to a million-dollar valuation within the following year.
