Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dr. Bryan Willis Reese. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dr. Bryan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
Absolutely! I believe in experiencing the world so that you share what you’ve seen and observed with others. My most recent trip was to Los Cabos, Mexico. I found my time there relaxing and reflective as I had scheduled massages, nice dinners, exploration of the caves and motorsport activities. Yet, most importantly, my spouse and I had time to share our greatest value of each other and embrace the next chapter of our relationship. Since that trip, I sense that vacations are paramount to resetting the stage for new opportunities and are inherently essential to any business owner that seeks to have a space where new ideas are abound, previous practices are evaluated for effectiveness, and your future is established in the time that you invest in yourself, your spouse, and your business.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I entered the field of education with both a heartful desire to educate the youth of tomorrow, but with the same amount of hesitance as I had seen teachers and administrators stretch themselves for thirty plus years, only to retire and return to work. When I entered undergraduate studies, I majored in Middle Grades Social Studies. Somehow, I decided to become an education major even with the challenges that I was facing in my readiness to change the world from one classroom at a time. Yet, that passion was diminished as I studied and only separated my passion from what I was gifted to pursue.
I later changed my major to Sociology with the hope of pursuing other fields of study. Yet, I found myself entrenched in the detail of educational sociology and once I graduated, I ended up teaching.
I believe what most would need to know about me is that I am hinged to consistency; once I’ve dreamed it, I’ve got to manifest it! I became an educator with varying belief systems about the American classroom, but without any doubt about the performance of my future students.
From that year on, my commitment has met the demand each year.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I’ve had to unlearn sorrowful failure. When I was younger, I never had a challenge against losing a race or not having opportunities to do great things, but in my adult life–I’ve changed. I seek excellence more vividly and thoroughly now. II remember learning about ‘imposter syndrome’ when I entered my doctoral program. My program director shared with my class that we all deserved to be there and no matter what challenges we faced ahead, know that we were intended to be present in this space. Since then, I have challenged the status quo of failing with equitable attempts and successes of winning. I have no intention to lose; I have committed to excellence whether that be manifested in failure or success, but I am submerged in the idea of believing that I deserve to be in this space. I own my actions and behaviors, but I am open enough to be taught and corrected as I navigate these new waters as a person of faith and belief in a higher power than I.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I met Quentin Willis-Reese in October of 2005 in Hawkinsville, Georgia. From the moment that we met, I knew that he would be an impeccable life-mate and business partner. Our growth and trajectory was about the same; we grew up in small town Georgia, but we both had huge aspirations, talents, and gifts that lend to our daily successes.
