Hi Doris , thanks for joining us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.
My parents came into this country as foreigners. Despite their obstacles, they still found a way to use their knowledge to get them into a long lasting career while raising 5 kids to do the same. Their drive and ambition is what fueled me to take my education and opportunities seriously. We were taught to strive for the best, but at the same time be humble in our success and always help others along the way. That has impacted my life by creating a mindset to pursue and achieve anything I put my mind to and never give up.

Sure! My name is Doris Onyekwere and I am a registered nurse. I have been a nurse for 7 years now and always pursuing educational and developmental opportunities to expand my horizon. I started Sucrebeautyco while I was pursuing another degree with the push of a business savvy friend that was established in her business endeavors. It was a way for me to learn about the world of business and entrepreneurship while generating extra income. Since I was a student at the time, I thought it was a great idea to sale high-quality beauty products with an affordable price range. This was important to me because I used the products exclusively and it saved me money on lash extensions, lipgloss and trips to the nail salon. In this economy, people are learning to shop on a budget and that’s exactly what my target audience is! The everyday girl that wants to look and feel their best without breaking the bank!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Honesty and Transparency! I’m a firm believer in selling quality and giving the customer what they believe they will be purchasing. These days, there are a lot of untrustworthy brands that make customers wary of trusting a new business. Putting myself in the shoes of a customer, I make purchases hoping that I get the quality and service promised in return. So as a seller, my goal is to do the same.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for us have been returning customers referrals. Customers love our products and they pass the word along when others ask or show interest in what they purchased. It also makes me happy to see the positive influence and I’m so appreciative of the love shown.
