We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Doris Garrett a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Doris thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.

When I was eight months pregnant with my second child, I was preparing divorce paper. Thousands of emotions surrounded my broken heart. The situation was giving to me, not against me. As I helped myself, I started to get inspired to help others. This inspired me to start my company, Ocean Soul Life Coaching. My passion is to help others. Separation, anger, guilt and frustration, for example, are very strong emotions that can keep you from attaining the life you wish to have.

As a Life Coach, I support you and empower you so you can achieve your dreams and goals in life. Separation anxiety can keep you from attaining the life you wish to have. Our focus will be on solutions rather than on problems. We collaborate to discover which tools work best for you so that we can start releasing the negative energy from the emotion that has kept you stuck. The purpose of this is to unlock the molecules of emotion in your personal sphere that have locked the pattern of behavior in place. If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?

Yes. I love inspiring people.

There is a reason why you are here right now, at this place at this time. You came through your parents from the Universe – think about that! You are so much more than you think of yourself or see in your mirror.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Through life we collect feelings and emotion. It’s starts in our childhood. When we are ignoring, or we are not aware of those feelings those feelings have a way to come up. I learned that self-love, self-care and coming back to yourself is the most important thing, Our center of your life is INSIDE of us. When we face problems, it is important to see how and what we feel.
