We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dorian Greene. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dorian below.
Dorian, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Like many others I was affected by Covid 19 in a serious way. Having a family of 5 I realized how important it is to have a financial boat that will stay afloat when disaster strikes. It was at that moment I decided to follow my passion and purpose in life. I began to form the business plan for my company in which would allow me to work from home and touch as many lives God saw fit in the process. Finding the name for my company wasn’t difficult, I knew that I wanted a name that represents and inspires ownership, what better word than landlord? Unfortunately it was impossible to trademark such a word so I made a minor adjustment and wala THE LVNDLORDS was born. Prior to launching my business I was blessed with the wisdom to know that everything we see is a result of an idea therefore if they thrive so can I.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I fell in love with music at an early age and began taking piano lessons when I was 11 years old. This musical foundation gave me a good understanding of the art and trained my ear. When I hear music I see visuals and when I see visuals I hear music so naturally I figured if I married the two it would allow me to fulfill my purpose in life. Everything good in life has a natural flow. My God given gift is to bring visions to reality that ultimately produces a moving experience. We also offer video editing services. If you have a wild raw collection of footage we can tame it and create a purposeful piece of art.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
I met my business partner through a female cousin of mine. My cousin invited me to a restaurant where she was eating dinner with her two girlfriends. It was there that I met Namya and 10months later we got married. That night I unknowingly gained my future wife and business partner… Smh double whammy😂💚.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn the old phrase “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” I’m not old but being nearly 40 some would say it’s too late to start something new.
