We recently connected with Donyé Alane and have shared our conversation below.
Donyé , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How’s you first get into your field – what was your first job in this field?
My journey in behavioral health began unexpectedly as a Parent Aide. Initially, I was open to any role within the field, eager to gain experience and knowledge. A friend’s similar position sparked my interest, and I decided to take the leap.
The interview process was surprisingly smooth, and I was fortunate to land the job. Looking back, this role proved to be a valuable stepping stone. It provided me with a solid foundation in the field, exposing me to various aspects of behavioral health. This early experience helped me develop essential skills and a deeper understanding of the challenges and rewards of working in this sector.

Donyé , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have been working in Behavioral and Mental Health field for about six years now. The various positions I have held include Parent Aid, Case Manager for the severely mentally ill population (SMI), Mentor, Behavior Coach, and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) service provider. Currently, I serve as a Care Coordinator for a Behavioral and Mental Health organization, a position that aligns with my personal brand, Worthy Soul. In this role, I assist individuals in navigating their life challenges and provide them with essential resources to address personal obstacles such as housing, employment, and accessing medical assistance.
My work in this field has equipped me with insights that are often not available to those outside of it. I strive to share valuable knowledge that individuals without a clinical background can understand and apply in their lives. Worthy Soul is inspired by my personal growth journey, and I consider myself a reasonable advocate for challenging the status quo and facilitating positive change while remaining grounded in my faith. I aim to live according to the understanding and wisdom imparted by God, working toward becoming the person I believe I am meant to be. My commitment is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others, guided by compassion, integrity, and faith.
I create content that is shared on YouTube and promoted through various social media platforms. This includes video clips, short-form content, and original quotes. My content reflects my insights on the challenges we face daily in our endeavors for personal growth and overcoming obstacles. I share my experiences as they relate to each topic, providing inspiration and motivation to those seeking continuous self-improvement. Through vulnerability and authenticity, I reassure my audience that, despite our imperfections, we are still deserving of a fulfilling life. I emphasize that, while it requires effort to achieve such a life, we are worth that effort. By sharing my own journey, I hope to help others avoid some of the challenges I have encountered and offer insight, understanding and motivation to help others discover and be their true best self.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely, I would choose the same profession. It feels like a natural fit, given my upbringing and inherent ability to identify needs and empathize with others. While the academic journey has and still is demanding, it has been ultimately worthwhile. The knowledge and skills I gained have been invaluable in my work.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
We met in the front lines of behavioral health, both working as case managers for an Arizona-based company. Our days were filled with the unpredictable, dealing with seriously mentally ill (SMI) clients and navigating countless challenges. We leaned on each other for support, shared tears, and found solace in laughter, which often became our coping mechanism. Our shared faith was a constant source of strength, guiding us through both professional and personal journeys.
