Alright, Donterio thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Modern Man Styling, LLC was derived from the concept of offering styling services and fashion education to the modern day person. All too often individuals think that style and fashion are solely about labels and this is far from the truth. We are all individuals and our style contributes significantly to who we are as people. Style speaks for us when we have no words.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I will say that I was encouraged by close friends to take a leap of faith in the styling arena. It was something that I briefly considered, but I did not seriously entertain the idea. I have always had my own personal style and would offer others feedback and/or assistance with their attire when asked. People would often give me compliments and asked where I did my shopping. But it was not until last year that I embraced the idea of starting my own styling/fashion consulting business. I am passion about each of us embracing our own greatness as well as truly seeing who we are. As a person, it is significant to understand what your own style is and what that looks like. We all have a sense of individuality about us and that individuality drives how we perceive style. I do not feel that one person’s style is necessarily identical to the next person’s style although there may be similarities that do exist.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I feel that saying true to who I am as a person as well as a stylist is helping me to build a solid platform from a styling standpoint. As a stylist, it is important to get to know who your clients truly are and how they desire to present themselves to the world. It is easy to put someone in an outfit. But it is another thing to truly honor who that person is and take on the task of incorporating their personality into their attire. That’s what makes fashion significant. Fashion is more than just clothes. It is a feeling. It is a rewarding feeling seeing how someone’s confidence level changes.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Social media and word of mouth have been two of the biggest contributors to my business. Social media is a powerful tool when used for its intended purpose. Often times people have negative feelings associated with social media, but this is not the case for me. Social media is a place for you to share your content with the world and potentially reach markets that you did not know had a need for a service that you offer.
