We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Donny Dust. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Donny below.
Alright, Donny thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
On February 3, 2017 I suffered a massive heart attack at the age of 37. A bit of genetic disposition and stress in life lead to a widow maker heart attack that claims 99% of the people who are struck down by it. Prior to my heart attack I was in a hurry, always rushing to get life going because the old saying is life is short seems to be the common mentality. I fell prey to this line of thinking. Thinking that everything needs to be hurried. That there was no time to enjoy the big and small things.
That line of thinking nearly killed me, and after a few nights stay in the hospital I realized the best way to alter my line of thinking is to focus my life on my mental, physical, emotional and primal well being. I created the mentality that “life is long” and to enjoy it in all forms. The bad days aren’t really bad, but rather your response and approach to them.
Death is the one true equalizer in all people. No matter ho much money, fame or pride ones has, death comes for us all…so don’t worry about it, but embrace it for its simplicity and accept your fate. Once this is done…your short lived life, will be as long as it’s supported to be.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m an outdoorsman by trade, choosing to live and experience life as it once was. A life like our ancient past. A time when writing didn’t exsist, but rather a connection to the land. Life based of the needs and values a person may have.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Absolutely. I don’t have one and I never will. They day I decided to have a partner…they have to be a clone of me. I would never give up what I’ve done and what has given me my life and direction to a partner who’s not all in.
I’ve lived in my truck, eaten roadkill for food, bought gifts from my kids knowing I wouldn’t have enough gas to get me to my next training location, made and mended my own clothes and showered in streams to get clean…all in or nothing.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Be authentic. In this day and age most people aren’t. They present a false sense of authenticity that most people can see through. When actors, “influencers” and athletes tell you to “buy this”, “eat this”, “drink that” it’s not real. They are manipulating you to believe they stand behind a product. They stand behind the paycheck. To be authentic you have to do nothing but be yourself and create a community of authentic users that will genuinely promote, share, endorse your product or service. They will do it out of user experience and appreciation. They become the authentic user.
