We recently connected with Donna Wojcik and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Donna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I am an Intuitive Reiki Master Teacher and have had my own private healing practice for the past 2+ years. My offerings include energy healing, card reading, spiritual guidance, sound baths as well as teaching courses, training, and offering mentorship. Through my healing practice, I am holding space for those seeking an alternative form of healing, guidance, and more. At times it feels like therapy and other times clients receive the clarity they need. All sessions ends with the client feeling at peace, relaxed, and/or with an understanding of what the next step is to continue on his/her healing journey. My role in my business is to create a healing space for others who are seeking an alternative yet natural form of healing.
I always knew it wasn’t going to be about me. As a former classroom teacher, I’ve always been about community and fostering and encouraging others. About a year into my private healing practice, I began to envision a large community of healing practitioners and a healing space for the community.
I am about a month away of expanding my healing practice, now known as Kindred Healing Space, to bring in a community of healers, wellness practitioners, and wellness coaches. There are many wellness spas and healing arts centers that primarily focus on massage therapy and/or naturopathic services. There are few “healing centers” that focus on energy work, spiritual work, and other alternative healing modalities but many people seeking this type of work. Kindred Healing Space will provide one location for clientele to experience various offerings that many other locations may not offer in one place. I also find the importance of bringing awareness to this form of health and healing.
At this time, I’m excited to announce that Kindred Healing Space will be offering energy healing, a healing skincare experience, wellness coaching, yoga, sound baths, breathwork and meditation, healing circles, private wellness gatherings, events, retreats, and more.
I am looking forward to building a community of Kindred Spirits.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I own a healing practice where I provide Reiki healing, card readings, and spiritual guidance. I hold space for those who aren’t sure what type of healing they are seeking and help provide clarity and guidance as needed.
About 3 -4 years ago, I was suffering from chronic pain that my doctors and specialists couldn’t explain as well as having scary and unexplainable experiences spiritually. I sought out an Energy Healer to assist me and I started to feel better mentally, physically, and emotionally. I felt that I was given a direction with my physical, spiritual, and mental health and wellness.
Shortly after, I became drawn to Reiki and went through the trainings to become certified. When I first became certified as a Reiki healer, I provided free healing sessions to friends and family. Through that process, I knew I wanted to help others in this way and that was the beginning of my healing practice.
I was a 3rd-grade teacher when I started my business and continued to teach for a year. This made my availability very limited. I was only able to provide services in the evening and on weekends. Although I was tired after a day of teaching, I knew that my healing work was important, and it energized me. I recently made the difficult decision to resign from teaching to focus full-time on my practice. I knew I was taking a risk, giving up a steady income that helped support my family of 4 into this unknown world of owning and running my own business. My husband and I decided that we would make it work.
Since resigning, my business has grown, and more people are able to come see me now that my availability has opened up. I believe that I went from one meaningful and rewarding calling to another and that alone brings me peace.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Nowadays, social media seems to be a big marketing tool. I don’t have the biggest following but it has grown steadily the past 2 years. I have had clients who’ve told me that they found me through Instagram. To be honest, I have found it challenging selling myself and services as a product but I’ve become more comfortable with it. I use to worry about posting videos of myself but realized that no one would know me, my energy, or what I’m about if I didn’t do so. My advice is to be as genuine and authentic as possible. Let others see your personality, the mishaps as well as your joy. When a client tells me that he/she found me on Instagram, I ask them if I’m who they expected and they always say yes and that’s what I want to put out there.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Early on I suffered from imposter syndrome, that belief that I wasn’t deserving of what I was doing or where I wanted my business/healing practice to go. There were many times I felt like I was play acting even though my clients validated my work and were appreciative of what I was offering.
I’ve had experiences my whole life and this healing work and community building feels natural to me. Not believing in myself was me invalidating myself. Through therapy and my own spiritual and healing journey, I’m slowly come out of that. I’ve learned to put myself out there and believe that others will resonate with me and what I have to offer. I tell my clients, family, and friends all the time that they are amazing and deserving of what they have and what they want to accomplish. I finally started telling myself the same thing.
