We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Donna Menne a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Donna, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
The biggest risk I took was quitting my job in Minneapolis in the Medical Profession to move to California. I resigned from my job with the idea that I wanted to help more people in a different way. Covid hit and there was so much uncertainty in the world. I started life coaching people online during Covid and seeking jewelry. Once businesses opens up again I decided that I wanted to help people FEEL happier and live their best lives and I wanted to do it in person. Face to face. It was a huge risk but it has paid off and then some. There is nothing like face to face human connection to create community.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I started my business after being diagnosed with a life threatening disease. I was on chemotherapy and was taking medications that made it impossible to sleep. I started making jewelry in the middle of the night. I made a lot of jewelry so I donated it to The Hope Chest for breast cancer. A local magazine wrote a story about it and all of sudden I was in business. After that experience I realized I was on this earth to help others so that’s what I do!! I’m a naturally optimistic person and I genuinely love people so what I do doesn’t feel like “work” it’s just FUN!
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I foster brand loyalty with my customers because they know I really care about them. I ask questions and I listen and naturally remember details. I do my very best to provide positive value to their lives
How did you build your audience on social media?
I have built social media by giving each customer a business card with my face and crystals on it. I ask my customers to follow me and tell their friends. I make sure to create value in my stories so people feel like they know me and learn from me.
