Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Mcdine

Hi Donna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

As long as I can remember I often felt like a square being forced into a circle through academia. I distinctly remember sitting in my sixth grade classroom and my teacher telling the class as we were approaching the end of the school year that we were about to embark on the best six years of our lives, with heading junior high in the fall then to the high school for 9th through 12th grades. Excitement erupted in the classroom and I too joined in the excitement along with my classmates, hoping things would be different within the confines of new classrooms. Maybe my new teachers would actually listen to me when I would share that I don’t understand can you explain this to me differently. Unfortunately, my academic struggles continued through the next six years with most teachers saying you need to try harder and not taking the time out to truly listen and understand. Seriously, how can one try harder when they don’t understand the concept being taught from the onset. I innately knew a different approach was needed for me, but for whatever reason it was never considered by my teachers in the late seventies and eighties. I allowed the ignorance to shape me for many years thinking that I was not capable of excelling in anything. Until the day different people were beginning to be placed in my life through metaphysical classes, meditation, journaling, and of course Reiki. I haven’t looked back knowing I have now found my true place of belonging. I implore to anyone that is reading this interview, that they take the time out to find what creates excitement within from their inner most being and to go for it.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

I firmly believe no one’s road is free of obstacles and challenges. For me it has created determination to succeed as a Reiki Master Teacher and help those seeking alternative ways of healing from within through energy healing. I cultivate my Energy of Serenity relationships through daily engagement through my blog, newsletter, podcast and print interviews, and social media posts. Making sure what I am sharing is in relation to my own healing journey and what has brought me to where I am today. Much like with this interview.

Energy of Serenity is a Reiki energy healing practice that I founded in 2018 after completing my Reiki Master Certification through the LightClub Curiosity Shoppe in Sugar Loaf, NY, under the direction of Melissa Paone Somma. I facilitate and teach Reiki from my home in the historical hamlet of Tappan, NY as well as online (otherwise known as Distance Reiki). I am also a certified Orion Master Channeler and earned my certification through Psychic Medium, Betsy-Morgan. My brand has expanded with Channeling sessions individually and in group sessions.

I also offer a unique online journaling experience, Word by Word Journaling to an Authentic Life from A-Z. As a dedicated reiki practitioner, I am thrilled to offer a transformative experience for those seeking to connect with their true selves. Through this journaling service, attendees’ will explore every letter of the alphabet, delving deep into their emotions, goals, and desires. Together, we will unlock the attendees full potential and guide them on a journey towards living authentically and joyfully. Embracing this opportunity to discover their innermost truths and create the life they’ve always dreamed of. The adventure will start off with a welcome Zoom call Wednesday, September 18 @ 5:55 pm to share Donna’s own experience that brought her to journaling and the profound effects it has had on her life. Participants will then each have the opportunity to share their own personal journey. Then each day for 26-days you will receive the journaling prompt of the day via email starting off with the letter A and you got it ending on the 26th day with the letter Z. The 27th day participants will receive a resource email. Specialized meditations are also included.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?

In the winter of 2024 I took what I felt like a major risk at the time and reached out to several individuals to participate in my first ever retreat. The individuals included an author, a psychic medium, an esthetician, and a farm-to-table chef. Upon reaching out to the individuals for their session participation, each one responded within the hour saying that would happily participate. To be honest with you, I was blown away by the positive responses. Never thinking they would all respond favorably. Seriously, my old inner-naysayer was rearing its ugly head for no apparent reason. And thankfully for that I ignored that inner naysayer and created the finalized agenda and began promoting the event. And to my pure delight all 20 in-person slots were sold out within two weeks and four additional online attendees were confirmed. One in Sweden and the other three in Virginia and North Caroline. How cool is that!
