Hi Donna , thanks for joining us today. Let’s jump right into the heart of things. Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?

The fashion jewelry industry faces challenges such as fast-changing trends, intense competition, such as SHEIN or Temu, production costs, and the impact of economic downturns on consumer spending habits. Staying innovative and managing inventory effectively are crucial in navigating these challenges.

During economic downturns, as a fashion jewelry retailer I’ve experienced a significant drop in consumer spending. Unsold inventory piles up, and as a retailer you have to adapt to the shifting market dynamics. This reflects the vulnerability of the industry to economic fluctuations and the need for adaptability.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Once the era of packing lunches, braiding hair, and assisting with homework mostly quieted, I was grateful to unveil a newfound blessing – a talent for crafting distinctive and beautiful jewelry. This passion was borne from a desire for diversity and inclusiveness. Our core values include, “expression for all.”

My love for designing and creating jewelry is evident in each unique piece I craft, driven by my appreciation for the inherent beauty in all things. Designing jewelry is not just a skill; it’s my primary passion, and the process of assembling each piece serves as both a relaxing and inspirational endeavor.

As a dedicated Pug enthusiast, I extend my gratitude to everyone who explores my shop, hoping their journey through my creations is an enjoyable one. At Wow Factor Jewelry by Dadjwan, we specialize in crafting limited edition original creations that bring a touch of uniqueness to each piece.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.

I design and create the products for Wow Factor Jewelry. I learned fashion jewelry craftsmanship through observation, research and training. I had no prior experience but I was eager to learn and passionate about the process. I had to locate suppliers for materials through a process of trial and error. I would say that an important lesson is prioritizing and balancing, definitely inventory management.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Becoming a single mother was a pivotal moment in my life. While my greatest accomplishment being a single mother was also my biggest challenge. I’m thankful for Gods Grace as well as support from family and friends who helped me through my journey. My children are the inspiration for the chosen designer name of dadjwan for Wow Factor Jewelry. My dreams were placed on hold to navigate through the responsibilities of motherhood.
