We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Donna Britton-Bukevicz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Donna below.
Donna, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I hope folks remember me for the impact I’ve had on my students’ lives. Whether it’s the difference I’m making or have made, I want people to say, “Yeah, they worked from the heart, walking an honest path of sincerity, just wanting to do good.”
You know, I’m into mentoring students—voice, guitar, piano, and songwriting. Three days a week, I’m all about it. Thanks to COVID, I’ve shifted to teaching and mentoring privately in my home studio. It’s been a game-changer, not just for me but for my students and their parents too.
Spending time with these young minds is a constant reminder of what really matters. They keep me grounded, make me slow down, appreciate the small moments, and remind me to stop and smell the roses. It’s a two-way street, and it’s making life all the more meaningful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
With a lifelong journey in music, I began as an actress in school plays and evolved into a lead singer for a rock band at just 19. From playing iconic LA venues to touring with Billy Idol, my early years were a whirlwind.
Later, I lived a dual life in Nashville for 13 years, writing with then-unknown talents like Lady A’s members and Chris Young. In 2012, a song I sang on, “Voodoo,” earned an “Oscar-nod,” reaching #17 on the awards circuit (competing against Adele’s song, “Skyfall”).
Now, I’m a Music Supervisor and Creative Music Director, owning Molly Girl Music, LLC. I’ve collaborated over 14 movies and continue the wild ride. Outside the industry, I’ve composed over 400 songs for the Songs of Love Foundation, bringing joy to ailing children.
Since 2018, I’ve been mentoring rising stars in voice and songwriting, with students making waves on DSPs and even landing lead roles in movies I supervise. Married for over 20 years, with two beloved dogs, I live, breathe, and eat music every second. Life is good.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
My early years diving into the music business scene in Nashville was a Life-changer. NSAI, was my go-to, a big part of my journey. Those early days taught me resilience and made me stronger in ways I couldn’t imagine.
Picture this: lunches at Bricktops, breakfasts on the Row. Networking became my jam, and I connected with some seriously influential folks in the music biz. Seeds were planted, friendships bloomed, and now, my network spans LA, New York, and Nashville – all thanks to those early days that shaped the fabric of my music story.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Imagine this: packed everything into my little sports car, kissed the country club life goodbye, and hit the road to LA with a whopping $87.00 in my pocket. It was a leap of faith. We played every club imaginable – Troubadour, Roxy, Bla Bla. I vividly recall a wild night with a very drunk Mick Jagger joining us on stage.
I can’t forget playing the same venue as Billy Idol, that guy’s wild. I still can’t “unsee” what I saw in the girl’s bathroom!
Those days weren’t easy, but they fueled my resilience, pushing me to chase my dream against all odds. It’s amazing how the tough times shape us.
