We recently connected with Don Hudson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Don , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Entrepreneurs play a key role in any economy because small business runs America, using the skills and initiative necessary to anticipate needs and bringing good new ideas to the forefront. Entrepreneurship that proves to be successful in taking on the risks of creating a startup is rewarded with profits, fame, and continued growth opportunities just like we see with Wildlife X Team. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy but it can be rewarding if you are successful. While the prospect of becoming your own boss and raking in a fortune is alluring to entrepreneurial dreamers, the possible downside to hanging one’s own shingle is vast and can be scary. Income isn’t guaranteed at all, employer-sponsored benefits go by the wayside, and when your business loses money, your personal assets can take a hit; not just a corporation’s bottom line. But adhering to a few tried and true principles can go a long way in diffusing risk in any business. Characteristics required to be a successful entrepreneur are communication, you must have sales, you have to stay focused, you have to be willing to learn and you must have a strategy.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Wildlife X Team was founded by Don Hudson from Keller, Texas. We believe that helping people and developing our Wildlife X Team family both personally and spiritually are the cornerstones of our success. We are committed to providing quality work and doing our very best each and every day when we perform our wildlife removal services. We value teamwork and believe in continued education and change, when necessary. I am proud that I am in a career that I love, I am around friends all day and I have also broken some rules and hired family & I love it! We solve everyday problems by keeping wildlife out of homes and businesses.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Your actions plus what others say about you or your business equals your reputation and that means everything. This small formula is the most powerful leverage you have in business and in life, for that matter. We have a strong reputation at Wildlife X Team. While people say you shouldn’t be concerned about what others think, I’m wary of that advice. What people say means everything in today’s world. Today, we have to think more about reputation management even more than we did in the past because of social media. Not only do we have to worry about how we present ourselves in the flesh, but we also have to be aware of how we come across online and on our reviews. Let me remind you to create a great impression in real life and then leverage that work to create a strong reputation currency online.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Some of your clients may go for long period without buying from your company. Always make efforts to reach out to them and find out the reasons for this. You could do this by making a call sending an email or even a text. People love getting text. They can answer quickly on a text and it doesn’t have to be perfect. Remember to always collect client information as you serve them and keep it in a database. It is important to follow up on clients, even those that have not completely ceased from buying from your business. This ensures that you do not fall into obscurity, and that they do not stop thinking about your business. Use this prospecting opportunity to update the customer on new products and any developments in the business. Also, make sure to ask for feedback on your products and service provision, and take any suggestions on places that you could improve on. Email your clients a newsletter monthly….keep your name in front of them.
