We recently connected with Domo Montoya and have shared our conversation below.
Domo, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
ive always known i was meant for something greater. I’ve always known i wasnt meant to follow someone’s rules, or work under someone else. I was meant to go out and take what’s mine and be in charge of my own destiny

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is domo! I’m an underground hip hop artist. When I first bring that up to people there immediate assumption is that I’m some cracked out SoundCloud rapper, but without fail everytime I’ve always proven them wrong. I make music that comes from my soul and my mind merging together to create my own language and my own form of art. My biggest inspirations are nujabes, MF DOOM, the pharcyde, a tribe called quest, jpegmafia, and czarface

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The only thing pushing me to keep going is the fact that there really is no end goal, I will keep going and pushing my creative prowess to its entirety, and then keep going. The only one who can limit me is me, and I’m limitless

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’ve always dealt with hate, people discouraging me and telling me to quit. But it’s funny because that just gives me even more of a reason to keep going. I never have a reason to show off, but I will
