We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dominique’ Wells a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dominique’, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
Yes of course I love to travel and vacay! Vacations are very important!! I love to see the different cultures, taste different foods, & simply enjoy the breeze of a new place.

Wells Organic Company crafts organic body butters, soap, and hair oil . Each product is specifically designed to help heal skin and hair troubles. Here we pay homage to cancer survivors. Taking care of my late and great mother inspired me to help other people grow healthy hair and have smooth and clean skin. I love building up confidence and helping others feel naturally beautiful.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
When I began my journey to natural healing; I was working as a Chef. I used most of my money from work to start my business. As I started to networking entrepreneus; I learned to be in pitch deck competitions. I won 1st place in Lipscomb BAM pitch contest in 2021. That was my first big break. I was able to purchase machinery, bulk soap and oil supplies. I even had many opportunities to participate in local vendor events to continue bringing revenue to my company.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
I’ve been using several ways to grow my clientele. First is using local vendor events to connect with individuals one on one. I make sure I give them our one any only social media platform, my direct email and phone number. Right now since I’m limited to employees we use Instagram for client updates, photos, announcements, and all other concerns and questions.
