Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dominique Stringer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Dominique , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?

I hope my legacy will be somebody who made a change. That gave hope to our community. Somebody that sent more student athletes to college than behind bars. I hope i continue to show these youngins their worth.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

ACTION NO MERCY’s purpose is to: Develop the fundamental skills of basketball to females and male preparing both female and male the opportunity to play the level of game they desire.
Expose both female and male athletes to the greater community to better chances of being discovered by high level coaches and programs.
Design a plan with each athlete creating a profile of their skill progress for future recruiters.
Focus on skill and personal fitness.
Build stronger character to prevent negative behaviors that lead to criminal behaviors.
Give young athletes hope that any is possible.

Their program involves designing a plan with each athlete to create a profile of their skill progress for future recruiters. The program focused on mental health offering mentorship to continue supporting these student athletes on the road to be successful.

We offer 1:1 and group training to better skills within each student abilities.

I’ve been recruiting for 3 years and i have sent over 40 student athletes to college on Academic and athletic scholarship.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?

In 2017 I started to train local athletes in St Louis just to grab a few extra bucks. I found that i was actually a deep need for what I was doing. What I was doing was teaching young athletes the right way to play basketball keying on fundamentals! Just by doing that, i was offer a few coaching jobs. Later i got my own gym during covid and was able to invest in myself making a great amount of income.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

I moved to St Louis to continue playing pro basketball. I instead found more passion in helping athletes get better. I applied to every coaching job i had seen. I reached out to every coach to allow me to display my training skills. Nobody ever got back to me. Nobody hired me. Now in 2022 I’m one of the most resourceful coaches in Missouri. The same coaches and schools require my service. I wanted to quit but my heart wouldn’t let me. Glad i didn’t.
