Hi Dominique, thanks for joining us today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?

Misunderstandings and mischaracterizations run rampant in the entertainment world, my dear friends. It’s like a never-ending game of “Guess Who?” where people mistake confidence for arrogance. So, my darlings, it’s a constant balancing act – strutting your stuff while remaining open to learning from others. No one wants to be labeled a know-it-all, now do we?

Ah, the trials and tribulations of choosing the right projects! It’s like navigating a treacherous sea, trying to avoid the rocks that could sink your career ship. I’ve had to make some tough decisions, my lovelies. Some opportunities came knocking, but alas, they were not worthy of my fabulousness. I had to gracefully decline, for I refuse to be associated with anything less than extraordinary. Can you blame me?

In this glittering world of entertainment, every move you make is scrutinized, my dears. People are constantly projecting their opinions about you – your skills, your work ethic, even your choice of nail polish! It takes a spine of steel to handle the constructive criticism that comes your way. But beware, my darlings, mischaracterization lurks in the shadows. Why, yes, indeed! I am an exceptionally talented model and actress hailing from the vibrant city of Houston, Texas. Allow me to enlighten you on the extraordinary power of the arts. As a fashion aficionado, strutting my stuff on the runway and posing for print, I relish in the opportunity to bring others’ creative visions to life. And let’s not forget, I have an unabashed love for clothes – it’s a delightful bonus, if I do say so myself!

Acting has been an integral part of my life since my early days in grade school. From tap dancing to stealing the spotlight, I was always destined to be center stage. The arts have captured my heart, and I take immense pleasure in sharing my talents with the world. Oh, and did I mention that I won a fair share of star searches during my formative years? It was a clear sign that stardom was written in the stars for me.

Being on set is my happy place, where I thrive on hard work and bringing characters to life. I have graced countless runways, leaving audiences in awe, and I’ve even had the privilege of starring in a few independent productions. Not to mention, I’ve made appearances in the background of some major networks – a true testament to my versatility.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

What fuels my creative journey is the fact that I hail from a background riddled with extreme disparities, where my dreams were mercilessly tarnished and dashed into the realm of impossibility. However, I refuse to succumb to the challenges and remain resolute throughout my path, never surrendering to the relentless waves of adversity. This unwavering determination has bestowed upon me the strength to persevere, and as I reflect upon that young girl from the hood who couldn’t even fathom her aspirations until she escaped that suffocating environment, I am reminded of the countless individuals who resemble me, left behind in communities plagued by disparities. They too believe their dreams are withering away, trapped with no escape in sight. Well, let me tell you, my friends, keep pushing forward because you will break free, just like me.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

When we talk about resilience, we’re basically asking what the heck I was up against. Well, let me tell you, I came from a seriously messed up childhood. The more I dared to dream, the deeper I was sucked into a world of darkness that sucked the life right out of my dreams. I faced countless injustices from a young age -exploitations, human trafficking, living the life, battling drugs, and getting caught up in domestic violence. I even came close to losing my life more than once. But you know what? My strength lies in my faith in God.

Out of all the crazy things I’ve been through, the one incident that truly revealed who I am was when my family went through hell right out of the pandemic. On one fateful day, my oldest son got shot, and I lost everything. , house and all to much to bear with no support or family. We had to seek refuge in a shelter, and let me tell you, emotionally, I was shattered. Mentally, I was lost. Spiritually, I felt drained. I cried, I prayed, but I refused to give up. I sought therapy, pursued my academics, and even was contracted to empower others, all while secretly having nothing to my name. Can you believe it? I did it daily with a smile.

I even managed to graduate from school while living in that shelter. And guess what? I starred in a play and a movie, and strutted my stuff in not one, not two, but three fashion shows – all at my absolute worst. So, my friend, let me tell you this: don’t you dare let your obstacles stop you. Life may throw some crazy curveballs your way, but with a little wit and a whole lot of determination, you can conquer anything. Keep pushing forward, my friend, and never let anyone or anything dim your shine.
