Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dominique LaTrice. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dominique LaTrice, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I’m not a follower, I’ve prayed to God is this what I’m supposed to be doing? because I don’t want to do anything else.. I’ve risked clocking in at a regular job because I want to do what my heart desires and I never listen to the outside world. We all have our own time, path and goals. Never try to compare your success to the next person. It’ll drive you crazy. Stay in your lane and manifest all you want and strive for it. With faith and hard work you can make your dreams come true. Everyone’s path will be different. That’s my philosophy daily!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been a professional model for over 10 years, no one took me seriously for a long time. Not sure what changed but I had to find myself, my niche and do me. I’ve worked with designers and models all over the world. My biggest accomplishment that I’ve worked so hard for since I was kid was to be able to model in NYFW in 22″ and asked to come back in 2023. I’m proud of myself because no one but God, and the people he’d placed in my path. (KT IMAGES PHOTOGRAPHY, MUAs, stylists, & etc..) I’ve worked so hard the last decade without no management and being a full time Mother. I can say job well done to myself. I want more, that BIG break whatever it may be I’ll be ready, because I study my craft daily. I believe that’s how I’ve gotten this far in my modeling career.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
As a model in a small city, finding yourself, building yourself/clientele it’s very difficult because we all want to be on TV (entertainment industry)..and not realizing success doesn’t just fall into your lap..it’s easier said than done. As a full-time mother it’s even harder, but I don’t let it stop me. I just work around my children’s life. I use to jump, at every modeling opportunity that came my way, wasn’t using discernment just naive all for money and success. I was all over the place booked and busy, but drained. Until I was in a bad car accident it literally changed my whole life/mindset to realizing that I’m blessed. I had to tell myself that I’m living, I was chasing wealth, things you see on tv (yachts, mansions, celebrity status, etc.) not realizing I’m living the dream I’ve prayed for, I get to do what I love to do every day. Many people don’t get that opportunity. We all are wired to think success is wealth, and reality its more to it than that. Everything I’ve prayed for, spoke into existence. The Most High has allowed me to experience.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
When I sell my work (calendars/posters) to fans, supporters, sponsors that’s so humbling to my heart. I have no words.. because no one has to support me, but they do. “Investing in me, Dominique LaTrice, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!”
