We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dominique Bradley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dominique, appreciate you joining us today. Everyone has crazy stuff happen to them, but often small business owners and creatives, artists and others who are doing something off the beaten path are hit with things (positive or negative) that are so out there, so unpredictable and unexpected. Can you share a crazy story from your journey?
The craziest incident that has happened to me thus far is having celebrities and/or their publicists, staff, or other members of their “entourage” follow me on Instagram and solicit me for travel services. I never in a million years thought that my reach could be that broad, and I’ve enjoyed the partnerships and relationships that have manifested as a result of me simply taking a risk and betting on myself. The unique logistics of planning travel for this caliber of people has given me a crash-course in advanced travel that I would not have otherwise gained in my 3 months of travel planning experience. I still have to pinch myself as reminder to be gentle on my progress, as I have only been doing this for 3 months. My high-profile clientele need different levels of security and accommodations for security purposes, and often travel with their teams so both discretion and caution must be exercised by myself and the team I work with to help me manage specialized travel.

Dominique, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I provide travel planning and concierge services for my clients as a “side hustle”. I started out just wanting to get my feet wet, and this turned into a lucrative alternative means of making money. It opened other doors for brand partnerships and collaborations, which I never saw coming. While I have booked many different types of trips, I have found that honeymoons and cruises have been my biggest money makers. If I had to have an area of expertise, I would say it is those two areas. I have been blessed to keep bookings going well into the fall of 2025, and word of mouth has been my biggest means of revenue. I haven’t had to invest much into myself monetarily thanks to my friends and family getting the word out about me and my services. I have really been blessed in that aspect. I am all about making more money than I am putting out, and so far, that has been successful for me. I am a hard worker, and would never book a trip that I myself wouldn’t take. I have seen deals on extremely cheap properties, but I just can’t send someone to a place that I wouldn’t send my friends or family. I love finding deals on luxurious properties and giving people vacations as places they didn’t even know they could afford.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I am a huge introvert, and my natural inclination is to retreat within and keep to myself. I have learned that if I am going to do things I enjoy in life, especially if it requires me building and fostering relationships with people, I had to first learn how to go outside of my comfort zone and not only market myself, but also trust in the services I was capable of providing. I gain more and more confidence in myself and the success of the agency I work for the more I book.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I am a perfectionist, and so I put my all into everything I do, Hearing “no”, or having people back out at the last minute after I worked hard on their trip was discouraging at first, but now I have found that I bounce back from that pretty quickly. I have found that for every planned trip that falls through, someone else comes along and successfully books. I’ve developed a (somewhat) thick skin and am so grateful to God for these opportunities that keep presenting themselves after what I perceive as a failure. I originally told myself that I would do this until the end of 2024 if it didn’t seem to be making dividends. I am booked into late 2025 and am blessed to know that I can at least keep going until then! I plan to keep growing and getting better at what I do.
