Dominique , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
Creatively Crafted Bartending. When I first starting looking into the mobile bartending industry I noticed a lot of businesses had very similar names. I wanted to be different and started thinking about the vision I had for my business. I wanted to make sure it represented both myself and my craft.
I have always been known for being “the creative”. I like thinking outside the box, trying new things and standing out — and wanted to make sure my business did the same. Craft cocktails are an art and I get to be the artist. The combination of crafting cocktails with complex flavors and pairing them with aesthetically thought out garnishes that tie the cocktail together is what it’s all about. Creatively Crafted is dedicated to redefining the boundaries of mixology, prioritizing presentation, and crafting unforgettable experiences with every sip.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Dominique Baca, owner of Creatively Crafted Bartending. After 8 years of bartending in restaurants and bars I decided I wanted to start my own business. Mixology is such an amazing craft and I knew I wanted to explore more than what was being served on the menus at other companies I worked for. So I quit my bartending job and started Creatively Crafted Bartending. I love being able to have full creative control and introduce my clients to new cocktails/mocktails, flavors, exciting drink presentations, etc.
We are a mobile bartending business that services any and all private events: weddings, birthdays, launch parties, grand openings. etc. In addition to mobile bartending we also offer private mixology classes, cocktails tastings, personalized edible drinks toppers and more.
Hosting any type of event can be stressful as it is and the last thing you want to be stuck doing is making 10 margaritas at a time, trying to make sure your guests have a drink in their hand. Here at Creatively Crafted, we take pride and making the your experience enjoyable and stress-free. We will take care of everything from the bar, materials, ingredients, menu design, shopping list, and more. This allows you to pour your energy into other aspects of your event while we pour up the drinks! We plan out every detail of your event together so come time for your event, you are at ease knowing exactly what to expect.
Attention to detail is what sets us apart from other mobile bartending businesses. Everything is meticulously thought out from the cocktail/mocktail recipes, cocktail garnishes, themed menu design options, personalized cocktail names, custom drink toppers, the bar aesthetic, etc. Also, the energy we bring! We have been very selective when building our team, ensuring they are a great fit for the business but also your celebrations. Wrapping up the first year as a business owner has allowed me to reflect and see how much growth has taken place in such a short amount of time. I am extremely blessed to have such amazing clients who are constantly sharing my business with others, having me at multiple events (personal and business), and continuing to support me online and in person. I am so excited to continue this journey and see what the future holds in store for us. Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I think it’s important to share that it’s okay to start small! Often times when you think of starting a business, you think about how expensive it could be. I bought my first small pop-up bar on Amazon along with the few essential bar tools. When I first started, I was not aware that small businesses could be applicable for startup loans so I worked with what I had and continued to add to my set up as I went. Once I started securing more events and had a clear vision for the aesthetic I wanted to provide to my clients I began to invest in higher quality materials. I was able to do so with the money I had generated through bartending my first few events.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Social media is huge! For me, not only is it a marketing platform, it is a great way for me to keep in touch with my clients, their amazing guests I meet at their events and potential future clients that have found me through my posts. I have been very lucky and met some amazing people since I have started my business. I think social media has played a big role in so many clients turned friends because I make sure I am following everyone back. I get to see their big announcements, family trips, engagements, holidays, graduations, etc. Liking a post, story or sending a simple message lets my clients know that I pay attention and do see them as more than just someone who supported my business. I do genuinely care and love seeing what they are up to! Some clients have
me booked multiple times throughout the year and they will get their friends/family to hire me as well. I see some clients more often than my friends and family! As a result I have met all of their loved ones and have been apart of some of their biggest celebrations. At that point, I consider myself a part of the family! I love that relationships like this have been formed through my business.
To show them I appreciate their continued support and loyalty I will throw in a referral or friends and family discount when I see fit!
