We recently connected with Dominique and have shared our conversation below.

Dominique, appreciate you joining us today. Can you take us back in time to the first dollar you earned as a creative – how did it happen? What’s the story?

The first dollar I ever earned was with Amazon affiliate program/ influencer program. And I had brought a vanity desk because I wanted to start doing beauty content . And I recorded a tiktok video of me and my husband putting it together, I just told the story on how I never had build anything before and that it a was my first time putting something together. And how i couldn’t wait to start my new journey with make up using my new vanity. And i honestly didn’t know someone use my link until Amazon sent me an email to update my payment method and it let me know the amount it was trying to send. Now it wasn’t a lot of money but I was still excited to know that someone loved my story enough to go and use my link to purchase it . So it felt great and exciting for the first time !

Dominique, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Well , first i honestly always love taking videos and pictures of things I did
Whether I was going out with family, friends or my husband I was definitely recording it. Now I didn’t know I wanted it to be a business until I found out you could actually get paid from brands I already love just to making videos about it. Now yes it was lot more i found out as I continued to get more information as to being a content creator. I first started doing content for my first business which was being a nail technician, I had to learn how to create quality content for my business page to grow my clientele. Soon after I realized I did not want to continue nails but I loved making videos it was so satisfying watching my vision and creation come to life . But than I felt stuck because I didn’t want to be close in to a box by doing one thing , so I started creating lifestyle content and it also started to become a trend.
You could consider me a freelancer who makes content for brands .

I believe what set me apart of others I’m relatable but i also come with things you wouldn’t expect such as having anxiety , suffering from depression, who has a child who as health issues but being able to push through and over come it all , still be motivated even when family or friends didn’t see it as career for me. And not caring about what others think of me just believing in me and it made them believe in me too .

What I’m most proud is my journey and everything that came with it and still comes with it. I’m still not at the top and where I want to be but I’m am proud knowing that I am moving at my right pace and god will show me the path along the way ! Me not giving up and not letting other people fears or how they look at me stop me from pursuing my dreams !

I want my followers to know that you can truly make it out , you can honestly push through your darkest thoughts and make it positive and make that your reality. I didn’t come from fame, or money I was blessed than most but I also was worst than some. I want them to know whatever situation you are in doesn’t mean you have to stay in it , you can recreate your story because it’s your life and you only got one !

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I would say my son ! showing him that your dreams can come true if you just believe in yourself and never give up , have faith. The sky is the limit !

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Knowing you are creating from your heart and people can just relate with it and fall in love with it for themselves!
