We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dominic Glaude. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dominic below.
Hi Dominic, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
I grew up with educators for parents who had experience teaching music for several years. Their love for music was contagious. They exposed me to all types of music but, my mother was heavy on making sure the music was inspirational and free of swears. Despite my not wanting to attend church at a young age I am grateful for the exposure. Playing drums in the church allowed me to train my ears to play any song despite having a rehearsal for it. My mother, “Ms. Angel Monet”, also wrote a musical and allowed my brother and I to audition for it as children. After getting into the musical called “Jack’s World”, we had numerous rehearsals, and voice and dance lessons. We then performed the musical in a packed Strand Theatre. Experiencing stage performance at that age had an impact on why I am a singing, rapping, and dancing artist today. My mother also taught me how to make music on her Triton keyboard. This was the first time I was introduced to Music Technology and Production. My father was also a piano player and helped me with my music theory. If it wasn’t for my parents I wouldn’t have been able to take drum lessons, go to the Berklee City Music Program, and have access to many opportunities that were important for my growth.
Despite whatever my parents were going through personally, they made sure to come to my shows and support me and my career. My dad had a stable full-time teaching job doing what he loved and my mom was running her music company Inet Productions Inc. I would help in the office making CDs for shows and helping my mom with anything she needed for the business. My mother’s hussle inspired me to start my own company Diggity Dom Entertainment LLC. I wanted to make a living off of doing what I love most. My parents also exposed me to touring, traveling, and being independent. They also inflicted on me the value of how important family is. So many nights I would see my mom working on her laptop late at night trying to bring the ideas in her head to life. Next thing you know we would both be up late working in the living room trying to accomplish our dreams. There would be nights in college when she would go to sleep and wake up seeing me still working on my homework. Even though I did not want to pull an all-nighter, I was determined to finish what I started. I believe I got that drive and willpower from my parents.
Lastly, I respect my parents for taking the time to learn and open up their minds to all that I am. I truly love them for that and I hope they know that. I will continue to love and support others and give back to my community. The morals they raised me on are ones to never forget.

Dominic, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started Diggity Dom Entertainment LLC in 2020 to create a one-stop shop for musical artists and creatives to get their music produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered all in one place. I also help people understand how to protect themselves in the music industry like filing a copyright and registering their publishing and royalty streams. I grew up around music and wanted to find a way to make money doing what I loved. This passion inspired me to create my own entertainment company. The top priority for my business is to maintain a safe space for artists and creatives of all identities to feel comfortable working with me and anyone on my team. Not only do I provide in-studio services but I also have live entertainment and sound services. I was trained at Berklee College of Music in Music Production and Engineering, Music Business/Management, and Commercial Record Production. I’ve also directed a few festivals like the Boston Urban Pride Music & Arts Festival and the House of Inspiration Family Music & Arts Festival.
One of the proudest achievements of my company and artistry was being accepted to perform in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for the International Aids Conference. Despite the many hurdles of getting out there and bringing who I could from my team, it was truly an amazing experience sharing positive and uplifting messages through song and dance to people around the world. That was the first time I had the chance to perform my music under Diggity Dom Entertainment LLC outside of the USA.
I want potential clients to know that I treat all of their projects like a newborn baby. My job is to help grow and nurture their child (musical or creative project) and bring new life and purpose to what we create.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is seeing the happiness on my clients’ faces when we finish a project. Being able to help provide the services needed for artists and organizations that otherwise wouldn’t have access or were mistreated by prior companies allows me to change their perspective on how their projects should be handled. I’ve also had people tell me that songs I’ve written helped them in their lives when they were going through tough times. For example, I have an upbeat Hip-hop track called “Give Me Help”. This song was specially made for folks who are afraid to ask for help. And countless times, people have told me “Give Me Help” has gotten them out of some tough times.
That in itself feels amazing!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Outside of wanting to become more than financially stable, I want to be able to give back monetarily to my community as well. Currently, I am giving back by teaching, hosting community events, and hiring interns to get hands-on experience at my gigs. Eventually, I would like to have a storefront large enough to employ other creatives full-time. I strive for me and all my peers to come up together and do what we love happily. I’d also like to provide scholarships to youth looking to get into the Music & Entertainment Industry as past scholarship opportunities allowed me to attend college free of charge.
