We recently connected with Dolores Hirschmann and have shared our conversation below.
Dolores, appreciate you joining us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
I was in a meeting with my boss and I was trying to negotiate my compensation, I was not happy in that job and he asked “What do you want” and I burst into tears! It wasn’t just that I was not happy with my job, I had NO IDEA what I wanted therefore I was stuck. That is what propelled me to go back to school to study coaching and then launched my business and new career.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became an entrepreneur because I wanted to be present for my children while being financially independent and professionally engaged.
I started 3 different business while my children were young all of them had ONE THING in common. Each one of them had a clear STORY on how they came to be. The message was clear and it was communicated well.
Little did I know that many years later, and with 4 teenagers, my side hustle would support our family when my husband lost his job. I had 30 DAYS to replace his income.
And using my methodology, THE IDEA METHOD, tweaking my BUSINESS PLAN and CLARIFYING MY MESSAGE I was not just able to do it, I was able to double my revenue in 30 days and keep growing! In January 2017 I was able to generate $20,000 and that year I doubled my gross revenue, from $100,000 to $200,000 2016 to 2017! And we’ve kept growing ever since!
Today, my company Masters in Clarity works with experts, authors, speakers, service entrepreneur and need CLARITY FOR BUSINESS GROWTH. They are great at what they do, but need guidance on designing a business model that works for their offering, and communicating it so that their ideal clients can find them. We guide our clients to the CLARITY with the strategy and implementation they need to COMMUNICATE & GROW their IDEA into a profitable business.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I talk a lot about the importance of building trust in client relationships. Many people use the term “sales funnel.” to talk about the journey of moving potential clients into sales, but I prefer the term Trust Funnel. If people don’t trust that you are the right person to help them meet their goals, they won’t invest in you. I also talk a lot about nurturing clients and while I’ve seen this become somewhat of a buzzword as of late, I think it still has a lot of meaning. It is important for me, as a business owner, to nurture and support my team, it’s a core value of my company. In turn, we also apply this core value to our clients. Our goal is truly to help them along their journey from whatever starting point they’re at.
We have clients come to us with just an idea, some with well developed businesses looking to scale and many that are somewhere in between. What they all have in common is that they have reached a place where they no longer than manage and grow their business alone. That’s where we come in. Not only do we bring strategy and tools, but also the support to do it alongside them. We create operating processes, design repeatable systems, and collaborate on strategy — all with the end goal being that our clients be able to scale and grow with their end goals in mind.
We host workshops, group meetings, send newsletters, follow up with emails, reach out on special occasions, send cards when we know someone has something big going on in their lives — we truly CARE about the people we serve and we make every effort to let them know that.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I have a long history of starting businesses and I love being an entrepreneur! When I started my coaching business, it was really just my hobby business. I have 4 kids and you can imagine how busy I was. However, when my husband lost his job, it became clear that my side business needed to grow — FAST! I was scared. Our family was counting on me to be the breadwinner all of a sudden.
I’ve lived through many hard situations in my life and what I’ve learned is that healthy fear is a motivator for me. I did what I had to do — I dug in. I built a team of support, networked like crazy to get clients, and continued to put myself out there. I refined my proprietary system and realized that I could help other entrepreneurs grow just like I did. By communicating who I am and what I do clearly to the right people, I was able to attract my ideal clients and build a business that I am so proud of. Today, I have a team of all women who are mothers (this was by design, I’m not opposed to hiring men, but it was my desire to support mothers looking to balance their family life and be able to support their families) who support my clients at every level.
I knew our values early on, I understood that atmosphere I wanted to build and I hired like minded people with a variety of talents to complement mine and support my vision. My team and I have all gone through hard times while growing our business and one of the most amazing things to come of that is watching everyone pitch in to support one another. If someone is out with a sick child or a health issue, the rest of the team immediately steps in to cover. I am proud of my own resilience, but also that Masters In Clarity has created a space that everyone feels supported during their tough times and values taking care of one another and our clients.
