We recently connected with DJ NAS and have shared our conversation below.
DJ , appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Every event I DJ I meet DJs, artist, producers, business owners , photographers etc. We all come from different backgrounds, work in different industries, have different personalities, and have vastly different income and educational profiles, but the one thing I’ve seen over and over again is that most people have a unique and special reason for why they do what they do. From being a Female DJ and an up and coming female producer I strive to bring my good vibes, uniqueness and the way I was raised into my music.
Family is everything to me. Being able to see my parents, my brother and family so excited and proud of me makes me go harder each and everyday. My life growing up wasn’t hard but it wasn’t easy either. I grew up with loving, hard-working and dedicated parents who would do anything for my brother and I. I would love to give my parents back what they have given me even though I know I can’t repay them for everything.
I’m always the person with an idea in my head ready to put it into fruition. If I can see it. I can do it. I don’t think there is anything too hard for anyone to achieve especially if you love what you do. I say put everything aside and chase your dreams, it will all be worth it in the end!
DJ , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I AM DJ NAS
Female DJ & Rising Female Producer
Music has been in my life forever. I come from a singing, God fearing family . We used to sing together all the time, family get togethers have never been better. I’ve always played the piano/keyboard since a kid but I recently started taking it serious 7 years ago when my life took a turn. My favorite aunt passed away and that motivated me to chase every dream I’ve ever imagined. While losing my aunt, I lost apart of myself but gained self- confidence and my faith became stronger.
I create a vibe for my clients that they will never forget. I’m not your typical DJ. I want my client/s to let me know the exact vibe they would like for me to create and I strive to make it happen. My absolute favorite events to DJ are weddings. Even though they are the most stressful, it’s something about being able to help create that special moment for the newly weds.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes, I wish I would’ve started DJing earlier. I had most of the resources just didn’t know my exact calling even though I knew it would be something involving music. Learning from older DJs and producers would have been very helpful. They could have taught me things I didn’t know and more about the industry
I most definitely would’ve attended school for music instead of attending school for Criminal Justice.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Yes I remember one day DJing a gig and everything froze and completely shut off. I was so embarrassed and scared because it was a very important event and I had no idea what had happened I didn’t panic. I took a deep breath, explained what was going on. I focused and fixed the problem. Being able to think fast in any situation like that requires flexible thinking and tough skin. I improvised plugged in my iPad and saved the night. With doing that and keeping the right energy I was invited back to DJ the event the next years to come.
