Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dj Mo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dj , appreciate you joining us today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
When it comes to creating a business name you have to think with the end in mind. Knowing that It’s all about branding, I wanted to keep it simple, explain what I do and easy to read. The goal was to use something thats recognizable; not to reinvent the wheel but resigned the hubcap. I thought about the way my merch and logo to look like and created Dj MO BLVD
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
It was inevitable for DJ Mo and the entertainment business to meet. Mo was 20 years old when he downloaded a DJ app onto his iPad. He knew he enjoyed listening to music, but playing in front of people brings about a different element. As time went on he realized that Dj’ing is truly what makes him happy. He started his career off at Helens Fitzgeralds a local bar in St. Louis. There he would learn the fundamentals of being a great MC and DJ. Then he took his services into the wedding industry.
Today, now living in Las Vegas, he has combined those same techniques with his own style. When asked what makes a good DJ, Mo replies, “It’s been said that anyone can put together chart topping songs and press play, but it takes a special set of ears to hear sounds before loading them into the deck.”
His song selection, energy, enthusiasm, and versatility are what make him one of the most entertaining wedding and corporate event disc jockeys in Las Vegas.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I’m still building my audience yet I understand social media is everything! If you can’t capture content for yourself, hire someone to take the videos, edit and post them weekly.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source for me is building my network. It’s not just the people I know but who knows me. That’s been the key, always networking and meeting new people.
