We were lucky to catch up with DJ Lanz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi DJ Lanz, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Since childhood, I’ve been drawn to a creative journey, particularly in music. At the age of five, I received my first Sony cassette player, immersing myself in songs and Rhythms. I think I already wanted to be DJ that time because I would stack my cassette tapes by genre and I knew which songs would go together. While others played with toys, I found solace and inspiration in the melodies that filled my days.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a Los Angeles Female Event DJ with more than 15 years of experience. I specialize in DJ’ing corporate and private events, marketing activations, luxury, beauty, lifestyle and fashion parties as well as intimate weddings. I work with numerous prestigious brands and A-list celebrities and have established a multitude of DJ residencies in critically acclaimed clubs. I am also a traveling DJ and service neighboring cities and states such as Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco and Las Vegas. I have performed internationally and also won DJ of the year 2013 in Guam, USA. As a female event DJ, I’m proud to shatter stereotypes and empower others in the industry. My presence sends a powerful message of inclusivity and diversity, creating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and celebrated.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being able to inspire other women to pursue their passions and dreams brings me immense joy and fulfillment. Music has a unique ability to bring people together and evoke emotions. I love seeing how my music selection resonates with the audience, creating moments of joy, nostalgia, and connection that they’ll remember long after the event is over. Being a part of a special event is a privilege. I cherish the opportunity to contribute to these moments and create lasting memories that people will treasure for years to come.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My advice for up and coming female DJ’s is to always be authentic: Stay true to yourself and your musical tastes. Develop your own signature style that sets you apart from other DJs. Authenticity is key to building a loyal fan base and establishing your brand. Above all, remember to have fun and enjoy the journey! DJing is a creative and exciting profession that allows you to share your passion for music with others. Stay passionate, stay positive, and the rest will follow.
