Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DJ FLACO. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
DJ FLACO, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
Both my parents are the reason I am able to do this, they are my #1 supporters. They invested in me, and most important they believed in me. I been blessed to have such amazing parents that gave me freedom to go after anything I wanted, knowing they will always have my back.
Early on my career, I was doing private gigs I’m talking about me being 14-15 years old. Private gigs require to take equipment to the venue like speakers, lights, stands, mobil stage, mixers etc. At the time I didn’t drive or had anyway of transportation to get equipment to my gigs. So my dad would be the one helping me with that, keep in mind my dad worked 70 plus hours a week outside in the hot/cold weather, most of times my dad would come straight from work to help load the van take the equipment to the venue, and set up. Sometimes he would stay there the whole night too just to make sure everything was running smoothly. Not once did he complain about it or said I can’t do it today he always found a way. There were times when I knew he was tired but that didn’t matter to him, he always had my back.
I don’t I have ever told my dad how much that meant to me, he showed me what hard work and a good work ethic is. Now that I’m in a better position I want to give my parents the world, and find a way to thank them for everything they have done for me.

DJ FLACO, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started dj-ing in my freshman year of high school, crazy thing is I always had a thing for music, but I discovered dj-ing from a Guitar Center magazine, you know all the way at the end they have to dj section, I seen the mixers and turntables, and that caught my eye! I did a bit of research on it, thats all it took for me to be like “yeah I want to try this dj thing”.
I can honestly say I been self taught on how to mix, where to get my music from, the business side of it, or even how to read the crowd, I feel like I put the hours in to the point where I was learning so much without even realizing it. I wouldn’t want any other way though, me figured it out on my own gave me the opportunity to create my own style.
To everyone who supports and shows love, I want ya’ll to know the love is mutual, when you guys come out to one of my shows I want ya’ll to have a good time and enjoy the music. Thats my goal when ever I’m playing to have the crowd feel the music, to have them sing along, take ya’ll to this music journey, from love songs to throwbacks to have you feel bass, I like to call that The Good Vibe Wave.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I would say getting a good feedback and people showing love to your work is a big reward as an artist. For me is when I am playing at a club and I feel the energy from the whole room, I can tell if they are having a good time, When I’m done with my set and I feel good about it, that’s my reward.

: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I just want people to connect having a good time to my name, you feel me? Like when you see the name “DJ FLACO” on the flyer I want people to know the vibe just off that. There is still a lot more work to be done more people to meet and more clubs to Dj, like I always say I’m bringing The Good Vibe Wave to you one club at a time.
