We were lucky to catch up with Dipen Parekh recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Dipen, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

What differentiates GradePower Learning from other learning centres is that our tutoring methodology is customized for each individual student coming here at our center. We do a comprehensive Assessment to understand child Cognitive & Academic skills. From the Assessment we gather their strengths and gaps. Once we identify the gaps we design a customized curriculum for every student. We individually work with students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 and also assist University/College students in all areas. We also prepare high school students for ACT and SAT.
We strongly believe each child is different and unique in their own way. We help them not only to bridge the gaps but also build a strong foundational knowledge. At our center we also help students with Study Skills which is very vital for their wellbeing.
At GradePower Learning we only hire qualified and certified tutors – who are trained well and understand the curriculum and students needs.

Dipen, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Idea was born all because of my son Akash. We were looking for a tutoring place which would provide customized tutoring for Akash to assist with him his studies.
As a hands-on father, I personally visited several institutions and evaluated the in terms of their quality of tutoring, methodology and evaluation process.
To my surprise, I was unable to find any tutoring place that would customized tutoring just for Akash to the areas where he was struggling.
Almost all tutoring places had “One Size Fits All” system. Which was not I was looking for.
This is what made me look out for a good Franchise which would cater to my requirements and that’s when I found Grade Power Learning.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?

At Grade Power Learning – we are in constant touch with our parents. We provide timely update to our parents about their child’s progress.
We go One step further – we reach out to our student’s school teachers to show our support. We work with school teachers to understand the curriculum in focus, areas of gaps identified by the school teacher and together can focus to help the child improve the grades and build a strong foundational knowledge.

Any advice for managing a team?

To manage a team and maintain high morale – we consider following at Grade Power Learning –
– Lead by example and set clear goals and expectations for all my tutors and staff
– Foster open communication, active listening, and regular team meetings & feedback
– Recognize and reward achievements for all my tutors and staff members
– Empower team members to make decisions and take ownership of their work

– Organize team-building activities twice a year for all my tutors and staff members and encourage work-life balance.
