We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dion Green a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Dion thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The Fudge Foundation was developed after the loss of my father, Derrick in the senseless Oregon District mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio on August 4, 2019. It was night that changed my life after holding and watching my father die in my arms. From that night, I have worked tirelessly to turn my pain into strength by authoring the book “Untitled: Act of God. Act of Man.” and helping individuals that are impacted directly and indirectly by mass shootings, violence, human trafficking, domestic abuse and other forms of trauma.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I work to provide services to my communities and supporting families who are in need. I provide services such as education on suicide, trauma and more. The work that I do, helps changes the world for many people. I am a mentor, leader and change agent for the community. My leadership reigns throughout the community and beyond. I remain dedicated to working with people from a variety of backgrounds and enhancing the community.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
From my incarceration to a devastating tornado in my hometown, and then to lose my father in a tragic mass shooting, I have had many personal challenges that have built my resilience. Many days it can take a lot to get up and go but I know that this battle is not always a battle that I have to fight alone.
This is not the journey that I chose on my own. This is the hand that was given to me, and I use what I have been through to help others.
My book is an inside offering of my personal testimony of resilience and strength, Untitled serves to help and inspire others challenged by life’s trials. It demonstrates the power of a community that rallied and supported me and my family.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I continue to build my presence and mission by continuously supporting my business mission and making sure that others are aware of the work that we are doing. I encourage those seeking to build their social media presence to be true to who your audience is. Work hard and stay consistent and that will take you a long way.
