Dina, appreciate you joining us today. Can you share a customer success story with us?

Since 2018, Be The Light Malas has inspired thousands to attract what they’re seeking through the power of high-quality semi-precious gemstones. Each piece is handcrafted with natural healing crystals from Mother Earth such as Rose Quartz, Amethyst, Smokey Quartz, and more. Our clients have benefited from these unique pieces that help balance the mind, body, and spirit. One particular story that has stayed with me is about a client who was seeking healing from a traumatic event that left them in the hospital for weeks. They requested a custom Mala that was hand-knotted with Sunstone on silk thread. They expressed that our jewelry helped them recover, filled them with hope and vitality, and reminded them of their strength. Generally, our clients seek to attract love, abundance, and overall peace and mindfulness. So this particular extreme case was extremely touching.

Dina, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Be The Light Malas started with the desire to calm my struggle with anxiety. I looked for a Mala that could help me recite a mantra to calm my mind while matching my modern spirituality and style. After shopping around unsuccessfully, I decided to design my own. Friends and family would comment on my unique pieces and request one of their own. We first began selling in local yoga studios and boutiques in South Florida, and now we’re in over 50 luxury hotels and resorts across the U.S., including the Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, and more.

Our jewelry line now features various collections beyond Malas. Our bestsellers include Bracelets, Chokers, and Necklaces that layer beautifully and are eye-catching on their own. Each piece comes with a tag that explains the healing properties of the specific gemstones, making them ideal for thoughtful gifts.

A few things set our jewelry apart from the rest. Everything is designed and handcrafted here in South Florida using high-quality gemstones and materials. We’re proud of the quality of our jewelry and stand behind all of our pieces. Secondly, we’re a mother-daughter team. Lastly, we provide excellent customer service. We truly want to support each and every one of our clients in manifesting their heart’s desires. No dream is too big. It all starts with an inner belief, and our jewelry is meant to be a reminder of that.

Have you ever had to pivot?

We find ourselves pivoting all the time. In business, it’s often said if you’re not growing, you’re dying. Meaning, it’s not a good sign if things stay stagnant for a long time. New trends are popping up constantly in fashion, design, and more. You have to stay abreast with the latest trends and adapt accordingly. Of course, it’s important that you set your company principles, brand standards, and identity and ground yourself in that since that is what will define you and set you apart from competitors. However, we’re constantly open to adapting, evolving, and challenging ourselves to be better in various ways.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

Social media is a beast that’s constantly changing! When we first started 6 years ago in 2018, it wasn’t as competitive to be seen and form a community on Instagram. Now, we’re battling with tons of large brands with huge ad budgets that take up much of the space. What helps us stay rooted is to create consistent pieces of organic content that provide value to our specific audience. My advice would be to get to know your audience and share things you think they would truly appreciate and love. Cover various topics and don’t stay too product-focused. Remember that they are following you to get a form of inspiration, education, and entertainment. Center your social strategy around that.
