We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dimitris Zogaris a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dimitris, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
My love and passion for skateboarding led me to discover ways to make my passion my job.
Living in Greece a country with not much of a big skateboarding community it was very hard at first.
As years were passing by and skateboarding was getting more and more popular i figured out why not try to make skateboarding somehow my job by becoming the first skateboard instructor in my country and teaching adults and kids how to become better at it, and also discover more about the magic world of skateboarding.
Thats when i first came up with the idea of starting the first official skateboard school in Greece.
Collaborating with a sports facility school we built the first indoor skateboard park and begin lessons there.
That was something that nobody had ever done in my country since today.
Dimitris, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As a very well known skater in my country as years were passing by i made a name for myself.
Being also the first skater in Greece to travel all the way to Los Angeles had a huge impact in my career.
I was also very active with social media and content creation which helped me make a bigger name for myself and achieve more.
When i first started doing skateboard lessons nobody expected it. It was something new.
One thing that helped me grow and make my passion my job was Tik Tok.
I am the first skateboarder that has Almost 45.000 Followers on Tik Tok in my Country.
That helped me grow a lot in the Skateboard Instructor field.
After that skateboarding became an olympic sport which also helped a lot with the Skateboarding Lessons.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal and dream is to move to Los Angeles and take with me all this passion and love!
I want to become one of the best Skateboard Instructors and Content Creators in L.A!
