We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dillon Farmer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dillon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success can be defined by many things, but for me, success is defined by happiness. When my wife and I decided to go into the food truck business, I dissolved my other business to put my entirety into a new one, one that I had extreme passion for. While money and the feeling of our financial security was now in jeopardy through the loss of our dissolved business, my happiness and fulfillment in my new career drove me in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It was through this happpiness that we were able to regain that financial security, but this time, in something we lived for. The moment we began to value our happiness.. in this case, in our newfound career.. we became successful.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Before starting our food truck, I spent a lot of time as a food influencer. This sent my wife and I on many travels and adventures. On these anventures, two foods we fell in love with were smashburgers and beignets. We decided to spend some time perfecting the craft. A year after experimenting with making the perfect smashburger and excellent beignets, we lauuched our food truck, Two Farmers Burgers and Beignets. Since day 1, we have focused on making everything fresh to order and to the best of our ability. It is not uncommon for customers to travel hours to see us, so we always make sure we are on our A-Game. We aim to turn every new customer into a regular.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We believe the best way to promote ourselves on social media is to keep the audience involved and interested. With more post engagement, we are able to reach new potential customers every time we share in our page. A few examples of engaging posts are through giveaways, open-ended questions, and new exciting specials we are serving. Asking for shares, likes, and tags is a great recipe to grow your audience. Without a great Facebook following, we would not have near the success we do today.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
We keep our business unfussy and straight-forward. Not only do we do things simply, but we do them as efficiently and effectively as we can. We thrive on consistency in our products, transparency in our business, and excellent customer service.
