Alright, Diliana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today

I think about this question every now and then and ask myself this question over and over. Sometimes I feel like I should have but then if I did, would I of been the person I am today? Because experiences do shape you as a person. If I was to start over I would maybe of changed my course to something that would have prepared me for the industry in a more commercial and behind the scenes out of the public view experience. I was always the kind of person to go my own way, even though I don’t have full support from family for this profession. But sometimes I feel I could have been a little more bold with my decisions than I already am; such as the trip to Paris, NY, just go! Even though it may have not been ideal in certain circumstance but I feel as I have done a lot in my career so far at 22 and received and still receiving amazing opportunities so I am grateful.

Diliana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Diliana, I am 22 years old. I’ve worked in the Fashion industry in many various roles. My first job/role was a Co Designer for a Women’s brand when I was 18, how I got the job was surreal. I attended a private Lebanese fashion show that I was supposed to attend with one of my close friends at the time. But she couldn’t make it so I ended up going on my own; what drove me to go myself was just a good gut feeling that I had of meeting someone there. 2 hrs in before the show started I’ve met a women who interviewed on the spot and later told me she would like me to work with her for her brand, I was very happy and so grateful. At the moment I am working with agencies that work with multiple luxury brands and work everyday to complete projects for them. I am also doing some personal work of my own and working on future collections. I think what sets me apart is my ability to solve my own/others problems, if I am not able to enter a certain area in my field I will find the reason and answer to it, work towards it, & get in. I think aswell I completely go my own way now and no one can speak and tell me otherwise. I am filled with gratitude about many things; I would say my positive outlook despite the negatives and my exceptional drive. I want readers to know that my business is providing services to brands and that I don’t have a brand as of yet. I have rebranded and will showcase my works in due time, do look at my website for updates and directions that I may be heading.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

A lesson that I had to unlearn was that it’s great to be very creative but it needs to be commercial for consumer, it needs to be balanced out, it sounds very simple but can be sometimes hard to execute because after all you need to meet consumers needs and wants aswell.

Have you ever had to pivot?

Last year I took a couple months break from the industry and worked as a court administrator, I know right?…. Tbh I just needed a break from the industry to find my own way again and see what I really needed and wanted to do and see where I wanted to head with my path. I am glad I took that break because now I know what direction I want to go in and what brand aesthetics appeal to me more.
