We recently connected with Dijon Bowden and have shared our conversation below.
Dijon , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I am building a legacy of love. I desire to inspire people to remember and embody their true essence as a soul and be vessels for unconditional love.
I grew up in the bible belt of the South and I was raised in a Christian community where belief was strong. After leaving home and traveling the world I recognized the underlying Truth behind multiple ways of living and being so now I am committed to moving beyond belief based or orthodox religion and myth and expanding into knowing based on direct revelation of the divine source.
I would like to be remembered as someone who was devoted to inspiring people to know their own divinity and their own power to be a pure expression of love.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I come from a long line of civic-minded leaders. My family has been present in the Atlanta community for generations contributing to the advancement of society and I am a current iteration of that energy.
My great-grandfather, William Holmes Borders Sr., was a mentor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a pastor at Wheat Street Baptist Church. He led that congregation for 54 years and accomplished many things that advanced the city’s black community and created more racial harmony.
My mother has served on the Atlanta City Council, was in charge of a 300 million dollar+ capital campaign for Grady Hospital, was the chairman of the of Coca-Cola Foundation, and was president of the WNBA.
I’ve taken a different path following my inner guidance and moving to California when I was 25 to pursue a spiritual calling. I spent 15 years there learning about the deeper nature of reality, both on the physical level through a street storytelling project called SOULS of Society, and on the metaphysical level through the practice of yoga.
Walking the streets talking to people and hearing and capturing their stories was the most educational time in my life. I learned so much about the human condition and the holographic nature of reality that reflects our consciousness back to us.
When I started realizing there was more to life than just the physical 3D world, I began to study consciousness directly through asana, meditation, kundalini yoga, tea ceremony, sound healing, pranayama, and esoteric spiritual texts.
I’ve always had a passion for bringing community together, so I enjoy putting on events that make the ancient wisdom and knowledge I’ve accrued accessible experientially to people when they come to the events.
This is the essence of my spiritual lifestyle brand Dharma Glow: we make spirituality fun.
I think what sets me apart and allows me to create experiences with such unique and uplifting energy is that I have both the wisdom from lived experiences and know what life is like as a human, and also the esoteric knowledge that comes from exploring and studying the soul.
The combination of those things is useful to helping to modernize the info into what is essential for people at this time, and also make it accessible and digestible so they can integrate it into their day-to-day experience and live more fulfilling lives.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I know this will be controversial as we are in the Bible belt, but I had to unlearn that Jesus was the only begotten son of God. I now know that we are all children of God and all have the same potential to emobdy Christ consciousness the way he did.
We are not here to worship anything, because if you are worshipping something you are relating to it as something separate outside of yourself.
Jesus constantly said, “I and the Father are One. Without him, I can do nothing.” We are all animated by the same Source and our purpose is to realign with Divine Mind so we can live as pure vessels of unconditional love.
Jesus was one example of a human who bloomed from a seed, into a fully realized life-giving tree. Most of us are still in seed form, but we can follow the guidance of our higher selves to bloom too.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Just my devotion to honoring Dharma Glow and doing my best to live in alignment with divine guidance.
Dharma Glow is an energy unto itself that I was the original channel of, but it is just one initiative of many that exist today with the mission to help bring the New Earth into existence.
There are many lightworkers here on Earth at this time assisting with the shift of consciousness that’s happening now and these people are sensitive to the underlying energy and intention of things.
Since they can feel and align themselves with the underlying energy of the Dharma Glow movement many people have come together to co-create the life-changing experiences we continually create for the community.
