We recently connected with Diego Garcia and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Diego thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Honestly the mission we’re on is to be able to create a platform backed by League Supply to be able to uplift and help. It’s going to take a lot of hard work and time to get to the spot we want to be at. But we’re going to go through with it. We’re trying to reach the younger community through our brand by telling stories and making an impact on how to uplift and help. The main goal to get across is that it’s cool to help others when in need, not just in a physical form or gift form but mentally as well.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
To everyone reading first of all Thank you for taking some time and reading about us here at League Supply. My name is Diego G. everyone else that knows me either calls me “League” or “Dee”. I am a Father and Husband and God sent. I’m 28 Years old from the gutter of Vista Ca. Originally made in Mexico, Guadalajara Jalisco. League Supply later came on, but has always been in my conversation that I wanted to start a brand I do believe I was a freshman in high school. I never really pushed it up until the end of high school at that point I had no idea what I was doing so I stopped. A couple years later right before Covid hit we started. This was by far the hardest job to accomplish. Everything was against us. But I had already started and ran the Instagram so there was no turning back what so ever. I had to keep going. Essentially my craft was being a street artist. It was fun and a rush. But I hated my art being taken down so I had to resort to my first option. So now I tell my stories through my brand. And they never get taken down. Now they’re reaching all corners of the world. And that’s something I’m very proud of and to everyone reading now, then or future I’d like everyone to know that it’s our turn now. We’re here to stay and stay 10 toes down and become the biggest brand in the West Coast. One last thing thank you to everyone rocking with us since the get go and everyone else that will be.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
It’s been hard to create a strategy, because you need to know your audience you have to study your work and who you want to impact or where you want to be seen. My best advice is to go out there and go knock on the door your self. I’ve done a lot of foot work and word of mouth as well. Communication has to be number one always get back to everyone even on the smallest message to the biggest message. What I know is to treat the janitor just like the owner of the building. Be kind, it builds character. I also carry stickers of my brand to hand out and have them link up to my Instagram profile; get the most networking in as you can share, like, comment. It free game!
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I’m not gonna lie I started with $500 in my apartment in my living room. I bought a MacBook an iPad the pencil and a dream. The money came because we had gotten laid off due to Covid and that’s what I had left and here we are two years later. The best $500 I’ve ever used.
