Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diego Diaz-Cooper. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Diego, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?

My story starts with the foundation of self-motivation and perseverance. My name is Diego Diaz-Cooper and I’m a 21-year-old inspiring and growing social media influencer and photo-videographer in Silver Spring, MD. Throughout my upbringing, I’ve always had a passion for creating. A passion for expressing my creativity through different means and outlets present to contribute towards putting out positivity within my community and into the world. I’ve accomplished these goals through the use of popular social media platforms such as Instagram (@d_coop21), TikTok (@dcoop_world), and YouTube (@Dcoop World).

Platforms that have allowed me to creatively express my ideas to a wide-range audience where they are able to enjoy and connect with content consisting of heartwarming, comedic, and informative values. In order for me to reach this point of success I’ve reached so far today, I’ve always had to stay disciplined and motivated. Despite the many hardships life has thrown my way and the many criticisms I’ve received from peers saying “my ideas wouldn’t amount to anything,” I’ve always kept my head held high and persevered through all criticisms

Diego, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My current work specializes in me using the use of popular social media platforms consisting of Instagram, TikTok, and Youtube.

On my personal Instagram account (@d_coop21), I use it as a means to model different clothing brands and styles to incorporate different fashion ideas and media within my community and use as a way of communicating with supporters, friends, and loved ones

On my personal Tiktok account (@dcoop_world), I use it as a means to create informative, athletic, and comedic content to present my audience with funny, feel-good, and knowledgeable content. On my Tiktok platform, I create comedic content through current day events transpiring, athletic content through activities such as basketball and gym workouts, and discuss informative topics through a Tedtalk format series I call “Dcoop Talk.”

On my personal YouTube account (Dcoop World), I use as a means to create comedic, adventurous, and entertaining content through the video concepts such as challenges and daily/ vacation vlogs.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

My story thus far in my life hasn’t always been as smooth of a road as some would assume. Even though I’ve achieved some remarkable successes thus far at a young age, there were some difficult hardships I’ve had to face along the way. One of the most significant hardships in my life was the passing of my mother back in 2018, the most important person to me in my life. Her passing brought great grievance and heartache to my life but, I never let the tragedy define me.

Though my mother passed and was no longer with me physically, I still feel her presence throughout my life through my daily extrusions and loved ones so, it always feels like she’s still with me. I try to live a life through the lenses of what my mother wanted for me and that’s one of spreading love, positivity, and accomplishing. Knowing that information about what my mom wanted for me, allows me to grieve with the events that transpired more easily and always allows me to still feel connected and close with her.

Knowing this allows me to fuel myself to accomplish and chase the goals and dreams I set out for myself.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built a genuine following and audience on social media through the use of being originality. My advice for building a following on social media is to be yourself. Be unique and innovative when it comes to disbursing content as that will be the biggest outlier that separates you from other content creators.

Every day I live by and remember this saying of how life brings you all kinds of trials and tribulations but, it’s ultimately up to the individual how they choose to respond to those hardships. As I speak for myself, whenever those hardships present themselves, I always established self-belief within myself to conquer and preserver through those inconveniences no matter what because your biggest supporter for your goals and dreams has to start with yourself.

In order to achieve those goals and dreams you set out for yourself, you have to truly believe within yourself that you are able to accomplish them. As I am still young and continue to learn and grow, my story thus far demonstrates one of establishing the principles of self-motivation and perseverance to accomplish and achieve your goals and dreams.
