Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dianna Healy. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dianna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.
I’ve been in the wellness industry for over 18 years I’ve always had a side hustle in combination with a full-time hospitality job. I’ve worked at so many different spas for medical to holistic to resort, but always had my side hustle! It wasn’t until COVID-19 happened. My so-called steady hospitality job completely shut down at a well-known resort and spa so my side hustle became my full-time hustle. I had over 40 people visiting my little condo a week. It was a bit daunting, but I went and searched out a space to rent at Sola Salon studios, I could not be happier at the space I was able to open up my practice to Hydrafacial, nutritional counseling, waxing, derma, planing and massage. It’s been an absolute dream.
Having my own practice gave me the space to create my wellness business from the ground up in a professional environment.

Dianna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I got into the wellness industry because I’ve always had an interest in kinesiology, and I got a bachelors degree in it from San Diego State- but it didn’t stop there my love for Skincare began when I myself developed acne, and I wanted to teach others how to take care of their skin along with myself. so I started over with aestheticians and then branched out to Massage It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease that I wanted to focus on nutrition and an anti-inflammatory diet so I went back to school and got my certification for holistic nutritional counseling!
I love to help my clients with the full body experience whether it’s feeling good about their make up their diet or their sports therapy massage it’s all the same thing from the inside out!
One of the things I am most proud of is the fact that even through illnesses, recessions, and a pandemic, my business is thrived, and I’ve still reached out and helped as many people as I possibly could I could not be more blessed. It takes hard work and discipline to be your own boss, but it is worth it.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I would say the most effective strategy of creating beautiful business relationships is creating a space that is safe for your clients so they are able to speak to you in complete confidence and know that they are being heard so they refer you as a word-of-mouth client and honestly I believe that is the best form of Marketing ! Instagram and Facebook have been a help. I’ve got plenty of business from there, including my Hydrafacial community but honestly, the word-of-mouth is always the best, and I could not be happier with how my business has grown that way.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One thing that I have had to unlearn is the attachment to lack. In a business, that is a constant feast or famine Being in the mindset that you are always an abundance has been key to creating it around me at all times. If somebody cancels it’s OK, Use that time to build your business and market or take a rest maybe that’s the universe speaking to you saying that you need it. Abundance is a frame of mine, and so is being poor And coming from lack. You are worthy of all the abundance in the world, but you have to know your own worth first! I used to freak out all the time if somebody canceled or I was left with the gap in my schedule now I use it to my advantage. I got peaceful with it and the time if I had downtime instead of freaking out, use it for something that will fulfill me! It was a very hard lesson to learn!
