We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Diane Magnuson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Diane below.
Diane , appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
I’ve always been a deep feeling, a dreamer, and a person who sensed they wanted to create in the world. In relation to other artists taking up space in the world, my thirst to create has always been an undertow and strong current that surrounds many of my waking thoughts, my drive and my passion. Saying yes to the creative path is saying yes to the muse that speaks whispers in your ear.
Saying yes to meaningful projects are integral to my way of creating and has been for sometime. I created a series of sound baths& programs over the last year that bring in elements of life that are core values of mine— being in tune with nature and her cycles, embracing life’s beauty, becoming mutable through life’s seasons and bringing health and vitality to the mind, body, and spirit. I took the intuitive whisper and started the process of creation. I lead over 21 sound facilitation events tailored around sound healing, vibration, and working with the natural cycles of nature to help be attuned to specific themes of growth and repair. This work is bigger than me. It has called forth a deeper purpose of reaching a collective and community of people who are curious and willing to open up the mind body and spirit to deeper healing and possibility.
Creating anything can be a deeply revealing process. It can bring up old beliefs, the ways you play small, and will illuminate where you don’t value or trust your own guide and vision.Staying open and creative is also a spiritual practice of mine. It has been a muscle built over time and with help from self inquiry.
Because I trust my own vision and my intentions behind creating, I know I can’t lose. May I always be in a state of becoming and unbecoming, absolutely. The process of trusting yourself when creating is knowing what is my own voice, to take risks, and to bypass what are the projections or limitations of others.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a electronic music DJ of 15 years- an artist- event producer, and a sound healer. I am native to the PNW and grew up with a deep love for musical expression that has evolved more clearly over time. I am dedicated to bringing people into spaces through music or vibration of sound that allows their consciousness to naturally unfold. I aim to guide people back to their inner power, wisdom. vitality, freedom and sense of self.
I offer an array of services. Each a different form of ways to connect back to yourself. I can be found playing DJ sets in club, lounge, and restaurant settings and serving quality dance music. I play for festivals and just about any time of event in between-private or public- that is in alignment.
As a sound facilitator, I create local seasonal programs (in the PNW- soon to be beyond) that are part light workshop and sound baths. I will be sharing some new (upcoming) digital products that will guide people use sound healing as a modality to support and embody new possibility within their wellness practice. I am most proud of the level of intention I hold for everything I create. I make my integrity front and center of the work I share. I am dedicated to my personal best which allows my cup to overflow and help impact my community at large. I am here to help serve from my unique perspective. I am no one’s healer. I am someone who wants to see you win and feel delighted with your life. I will infuse each aspect of my work with and essence of freedom and beauty- there will always be an invitation to invoke more freedom internally when working with me. I want your life to be beautiful as well.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to offer my natural gifts that encompass seeing people deeply, making space for others to be expanded versions of themselves and bring others feelings of wellness. My mission is to reach those who resonate with those gifts and offer it to others through my work, my art, and my heart. I have shared this with other creatives when needed but I like to get out of my own way these days and follow my intuitive nudges. They’re an unseen force that are waiting for someone to take inspired action to bring into the world. I will be creative and expanding my creative endeavors for as long as my time is here. I feel grateful to be able to learn, share, and grow.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
One of the most light bulb (ah ha!) moments came to me when I became familiar with Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work.I read his book, “Break the Habit of Being Yourself” and it caught me off guard. It made me question how I had been identifying with myself, the work I wanted to create and the way I wanted to reach people. The theorized and tested method of having to completely become a new version of yourself became fascinating. It allowed me to start seeing proof of another way of being. It encouraged me to start practicing visualization on everything that can go right. That everything I am built for sharing and want to create already has the ability to come into fruition. Dr. Dispenza’s words would become my reason from unplugging from my own internal lack and old stories that were hard wired beliefs. It helped get me into better understanding of the power of the mind and neural plasticity. It solidified my deep dive into the quantum field. It invited the idea of co-creation with my state of being.
