We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Diana Vasquez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Diana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
When I started my journey of facilitating sound healing I found it really difficult to find places in Jacksonville that I could host my group events. I also found a lack of places that offered alternative modalities such as: group meditations, cacao ceremonies, sound healing with reiki and such. Jacksonville was over all lacking in the alternative modalities, I really felt called to created a welcoming space that allowed facilitators to come share their magic AS well as exposing our community to new alternative experiences.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Soundbath Jax was created by myself Diana in a very accidental way… In 2019, I found myself at a crossroads in my life. She was a successful esthetician specializing in Brazilian bikini waxes for 20+ years but, I was lacking fulfillment and knew I wanted to make more of a lasting change in the people I saw everyday. I decided to attend a sound healing session, hoping to gain clarity during meditation on my future and what my calling might be. Instead, I realized sound healing WAS my calling! Then, one by one, a series of events occurred that made me realize the universe was lighting a path for me. I finished my level one/two training in Denver, CO and came back to Florida, ready to put what I had learned into practice. As I began to perform sound baths with friends and family I came to recognize that I was ready to step in and fill the void of group alternative healing in Jacksonville so that others could experience this beautiful modality that had helped me so much.
I recognize and honor that each sound healer/facilitator is unique and I bring my own style to my sound healing experiences. The hope for me has always been to allow a new comer to feel comfortable experiencing a new modality of alternative healing.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I believe this pretty common now for a lot of us business owners. When COVID-19 became an issue for group events and stress and anxiety in our community was at an all time high… I really felt compelled to offer the community MORE experiences and I began to offer my Sound Healings on the beach. Those were SO well received it was a great way to experience something new in such a beautiful open setting. We started with 6 ladies and my last Community Oceanside Sound Healing brought 200 amazing humans in our community with amazing vibes.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Being in the service industry for so many years I’ve learned YOU JUST CAN NOT PLEASE EVERYONE! You can do your best and offer your authentic experiences but ultimately it is completely out of your control how it is received. WE never know what someone else is going through internally, that could shift that experience outcome. Don’t take it personally!
