Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diana Caicedo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Diana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
When I moved to the United States, I decided to change my focus from just being a TV and Film artist and I started studying Cosmetology because I feel that it is one of my passions and it is also an art. It is wonderful to transform damaged hair into beautiful, silky hair, etc. This new career makes me think that beauty and art are always together in their different versions. In the same way, I want to continue with my TV projects and content on social networks.
Diana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am originally an actress and TV producer. But right now I am finishing my studies as a Cosmetologist. I will soon have my beauty salon and I hope to serve all the beautiful women of Tampa. The motto in my beauty salon will be related to beauty that transcends the ordinary and becomes something worthy of a magazine cover. And that goes beyond a standardized beauty prototype. My clients will leave feeling beautiful inside and out. With good prices and excellent products. Later I will be telling you about the opening of the Beauty Salon.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I started out in Colombia as a beauty queen when I was 18. Then I moved to Brazil to study acting and radio and TV production. At first it was difficult because I didn’t know Portuguese and I had to work hard to learn and study at the same time. I started working in TV, taking photos, magazine covers, and finally I had the opportunity to appear in the carnival after a complicated and exhausting casting, and everything started to improve. I had to go back to Colombia because my 2-year-old niece died. My family and I were very sad. But by staying in Colombia, I went back to work and had more opportunities to appear in magazines, reality shows, movies, among other things. I became a mother 5 years ago and that has been the best experience of my life. I never thought that being a mother would be so rewarding. When I see my daughter in the morning when I wake up, I realize that she is a blessing and I feel very proud of her. A year and a half ago I met an American man through a marriage agency and this year I married him. I feel happy and blessed to live in Tampa and start a new business in the beauty sector, which is also a wonderful art. Don’t give up on your dreams and your desires and put everything in God’s hands.
How’d you meet your business partner?
My partner is my husband. We make a wonderful team. Everything is better as a family.
