We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Diana Angelson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Diana, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I was 5. I decided that I had to go to America, and become an actress.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I went to 3 Universities simultaneously, and I studied- Acting for Theater and Film/ Film Directing, Orthodox Theology, and French/Spanish/Romanian Linguistics. I pursued all paths, somehow I have a movie production company, I write scripts and plays, I make movies, and I act. I am grateful for being able to accomplish my dreams.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
It was hard when I first moved here. I received a scholarship at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting while working 5 jobs; My entire life, I studied and worked continuously. For years, I would get 2 hours of sleep per night. But I was an immigrant, I had no one to help me. I had to do work really hard and non stop.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to make movies that bring people closer to God. It’s the only thing that matters to me. Throughout my carrier, many people, young and older, came to me and told me that my work inspired them to be better, to regain faith, and to love life more. I consider that one of my most important accomplishments.
