Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Diamos Demerritt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Diamos, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Life is simple. We as a people make it hard. We rather follow the social norms then the vision that burn in ones heart. In order to become successful in life, one must define what success looks like to them. To have the courage to bet on yourself. Remain consistent no matter the challenge or obstacle. Follow the vision.

Diamos, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
To those who know and for those who don’t, I am a former collegiate athlete who overcame a life-changing event that allowed me to focus my passion and what I loved, rather than risk life on a goal that may have changed my course entirely. In the beginning, I started as a music artist. After my first album and a life of touring and shows, my passion for the arts led to the stage in theater. Where I spent 5 years as an actor, before shifting to film, television, and behind the scenes.
Now as the President of AnPu Productions, we focus on many aspects of filmmaking; including directing, screenwriting, series creation, producing, and acting. As a company and brand, our award winning series, “To Each His Own,” has been the brain behind several of Anpu Production’s upcoming work. We are proud and honored to represent our culture in the arts. Our purpose at AnPu Production is, promoting the power of free press, community, and telling our story.

Yes. I believe as a creative you look at the world through a different lense. Art imitates life. Creatives express their art through the gift(s) they’ve been given. And the disconnection between creatives and non-creatives come from the different approaches to life. As a non-creative, you may have a set schedule or routine that you faithfully follow. But as a creative, we exist in a world of controlled chaos. And we love it. We understand that creativity can hit you at any moment. And when it does, you either jump on it or watch another creative in the world manifest it. Crazy. I know.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is creating art that connects with the people. Creating art that touches the vibration of a being.
