Diamond , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
At ROU, our mission is to provide quality skincare products made with natural ingredients that are suitable for even the most sensitive skin. We made this our mission after several failed attempts at finding skincare that was not only effective, but safe to use in the long run.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Diamond Williams, I’m a 27-year old skincare enthusiast and soap maker. I got into the beauty industry after years of unsuccessful attempts at trying to find skincare products that were clean, safe and effective. Instead of giving up, I decided to take matters into my own hands, thus creating ROU, a provider of all-natural bath and skincare products. We aim to provide a variety of products so our customers can choose what works best for them and the skin they’re in. They can select from an array of soaps, scrubs, moisturizers and masks that brighten, cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve always been someone who prefers to do things alone as I am a bit of a control freak, but over the years I’ve come to realize that alone you go faster, but with the help of others you go futher. It’s ok to ask for help.
How did you build your audience on social media?
When I started posting on social media I honestly had no idea what I was doing, but made sure to follow those in similar industries who inspired me and I posted consistently. If you put in the work, your audience will find you.
