We recently connected with Diamond T. Williams and have shared our conversation below.
Diamond T., looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s go back in time to when you were an intern or apprentice – what’s an interesting story you can share from that stage of your career?
I still remember the first day of embarking on my Real Estate journey 10 years ago like it was yesterday. On February 28th, 2013 at the age of 20 years old I started my first day in the corporate real estate industry. With no prior experience in the industry or full knowledge of what my new job entailed and only less than a year of working experience before this, I was so extremely excited and nervous. It was the first day into the rest of my career! Since a young child, I had my mind made up about what I wanted to be when I grew up; a businesswoman and a real estate agent. Always so intrigued by seeing women in leadership roles, wearing cute classy fashionable attire, hosting boardroom meetings, selling properties like hot cakes and making great amounts of money hooked me in early. I just knew that would be me as an adult, I had to make it happen! Although I didn’t have a clue what I was going to be doing on my first day, I knew that I would be as disciplined as I could working really hard to learn my entry level position plus more as this was my first stepping stone to my dream. During my first year of corporate I went from doing basic data entry, reading deeds, mortgages, and court foreclosure documents all day to assisting with new hire training, managing close to 500 real estate title vendors and cross-training in 4 other departments gaining knowledge into the corporate side of the real estate industry hardly ever spoken about in day to day life. After many ups and downs, learning curves and dedicated ongoing consistency, in 10 years at my former company, I expanded my roles to an expert and experienced Senior Project Coordinator, Title Operations & Examination Specialist, Policy Issuance Coordinator, Nationally Licensed Title Agent and Certified Property Manager. In my main position, I had the pleasure of assisting big banks and corporate investors acquire more than 20k residential properties nationwide valuing well over $1B by coordinating and managing bulk real estate acquisition projects. Also gaining in depth industry knowledge over the years by leading process improvement for multiple corporate real estate departments, building, implementing & improving software workflows, providing ongoing & new hire training on Nationwide Real Estate and Foreclosure requirements for 50 states, and providing property analysis along with purchase approval for internal investment departments plus more. I could literally add 100 more things to my list lol. As I’ve fully transitioned out of the corporate side of Real Estate 1 year ago, I am now assisting everyday residential homebuyers and investors with purchasing, selling and/or investing into properties. By pairing my all around real estate knowledge with the support of my brokerage, I now offer my potential, new and existing clients everything they need — real estate, mortgage, insurance and closing services. While also actively business consulting and providing signing agent services as a Notary public for my own company, Diamond Signature LLC. I am so grateful for the beginning of my journey because I wouldn’t be where I am today or have as much knowledge as I do if it wasn’t for me taking a leap of faith towards my dreams. I checked businesswoman off of the childhood list, now it’s time to run fast speed ahead on my REALTOR® path.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
First and foremost, my name is Diamond T. Williams. I am a 31 year old, Florida born and Georgia raised, mother of one. I grew up in the suburban Metro Atlanta area in a small town in Cobb County, named Powder Springs. Outside of work, in my spare time, I thoroughly enjoy traveling, cooking, watching and playing sports, hiking, nature photography, writing poetry, journaling, reading, painting/creating art, working out and spending time with my amazing family. As far as my brand, I am a REALTOR®, an experienced corporate Real Estate Professional, Notary Public, and business consultant. As a newer REALTOR® and 10 year experienced corporate Real Estate Professional, I get to combine my knowledge of purchasing, selling and investing into residential properties with my past knowledge as a Senior Project Coordinator, Title Operations & Examination Specialist, Policy Issuance Coordinator, Nationally Licensed Title Agent and Certified Property Manager. Instead of just shopping for your home and advising of front end market data, I am able to thoroughly provide full detail on the behind the scenes process from Nationwide Real Estate and Foreclosure requirements for 50 states, property title review to cloud resolution, the underwriting process, corporate influence on the residential market, bulk real estate acquisitions, plus a lot more. The signing agent industry gets a lot of my time as a Notary Public. I assist with facilitating real estate closings for buyers, sellers, and refinance clients as well as provide signing services for all other miscellaneous documents which need notary review and acknowledgement. I also recently expanded into the business consultant market, with past experience, I provide project coordinating, process improvement solutions, build, implement & improve software workflows, contract creation, vendor management solutions, and provide presentation/DECK creation services plus more. The main things I would like my clients to know is that I am well versed and work to expand my knowledge daily in my fields to provide the most updated and accurate information in Real Estate and Business.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
As of recently, the best source of new clients for me has been networking events in and around Atlanta, GA. It’s given me an opportunity to expand my sphere of influence and meet new people who are looking to buy, sell or invest in Real Estate as well as need my business services. I’ve had a lot of fun connecting with new potential clients, business partners and friends.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Funding my business on FAITH is something that I had to do to gain initial capital for myself. I had just gotten laid off when I first decided to branch out onto my entrepreneurial path. On my last official day of working at my corporate job, I had been advised that I would receive a severance pay check. Without knowing where all of my capital would come from or how I would pay all of my bills, I took half of my severance check and invested it into myself. Hoping that the small seed I planted for myself would grow and foster a financial return if I just believed in myself and kept my faith strong knowing that I would be blessed and provided for. After a year, I’m still gaining capital based on my faith.
